I'm guessing there would be many clubs that would want him, clubs that could also offer him starts and quite possibly CL footy . That alone pushes us out of the pic

But your right in thinking why not, because who knows . If there was a chance in the summer window , then I'd say atleast try , as we would have funds to play with , not sure the ammount which Utd would want . I would love to see him here never the less

I’ve heard really good things about Lewis O’Brien from Huddersfield but he’s been heavily linked to Leeds. Coming from Huddersfield he might be available cheaper than a lot of the ones we are linked to and you’d think he’d have a desire to prove his worth more than many too

I believe he would benefit from having a decent player to play with and form a partnership with, is that so difficult to take on board.

I know what you're saying. What I'm saying is when the player needs others to make him look better it means he isn't very good. Godfrey has massive issues and the number of good performances at CB can be counted on one hand.

But he is good, as he showed us several times under Ancelotti in a well organised defence. Hence him winning young player of the year and nearly making the English euro squad due to his form.

I’m afraid this is just another case of the fickleness of modern football fans who can only ever remember the last handful of games.

Well I've never thought Godfrey was decent from the day he signed so not exactly fickle is it?

He's played well exclusively at LB which is mostly down to not having to win headers as frequently and having extra time to cover his lack of reading the game with his pace. If you're fine with a LB and maybe RB who can't do much with the ball but occasionally have a lung busting run then congratulations Sean Dyche, Godfrey is your man.
