He's experienced and will see this mini-crisis out and we'll be in better shape as an organisation once we get this season out of the way.

If he takes us into the bottom three though he'll have to go. THAT is the only circumstance I'd let him go in.

This mini crisis.
Firstly it was December and then we pick up.
Now its this season.

You seem to be moving the goal posts.

Well if he stays, I hope you're right and we are better off. I doubt we will be but am happy to be wrong. 19pts from 18games is shocking though and there is no excuse for that imo

Let’s agree to disagree. There was times he was excellent, mainly at left back as I’ve already stated.

There’s definitely a player there based on that.

Let’s not forget the team he’s playing in.

Think Godfrey played well on occasion last season and I believe that to be good coaching via Davide Ancelotti, this season he hasn't had a good game whatsoever, all over the place at center back, understand that he is playing with Keane as a partner but he has been all over the place playing at left back too

Agree with @MikeH72 that we desperately want the young lads to be great, the likes of Davis and Holgate shouldn't be in our match day squad never mind starting 11, as they are both very average players.

Concerned that if we don't change how we coach, Godfrey will become the next Holgate (of whom we expected to get great things from) and someone we need to move on.

We need experience at the back, a leader and we haven't had anyone of that ilk since Pip Neville who was a terrible footballer

Godfrey will come good again with a decent manager behind him mate.
Sadly though for now, he’s stuck with the Spanish Tony Pulis.

I’m all for signing two good attacking full backs to give us balance and more threat. Hopefully more control on games too.

But, Patterson being the attacking full back he is, leaving Keane on his own scares the crap out of me

Depends if we go to a 532, with wing backs, this should mean that when the RWB goes forward one of the DM’s, perhaps Alan, drops into the defensive space, if we lose possession.

MOTD pulled our 5 3 2 apart last night. It will be catastrophic if we continue that formation

It’s not formations its the players. Iv never been a big Coleman fan, but him
At his peak with baines as left wing back. And all off a sudden we’re pushing Brighton back and overload the flanks.

That wouid totally change the way their midfield 3 and be forced to go to help out in wide areas or drop deep to help their CB’s.

Also you have Mina & Branthwaite you have better technical CB’s who can drive into midfield and become a spare man at times. And potentially use the ball better, instead of either going back to the keeper or kicking it long.

I said yesterday we basically had a back 5 that were [Poor language removed] scared of the ball

No mate, Benitez is being sacked after the derby / the Palace game / the Brighton game and these players were bought by Brands and Ancelotti...and probably Silva. The clever people have told us.

He's still manager and they're still mithering themselves with his downfall - as the owner backs him to the hilt and hands him the keys to every door in the club.
This is going to look a very silly post in the very near future.
