Insigne who @Theoneandonly claimed was a target of Benitez...

...is going to the MLS.

Didn't Chesney hawks tell us we were getting him !

News last weds that.

Would love to get a left footed right winger in, should be on to Kiev for Tsyhankov or that Swedish lad from Juve.
Antony from Ajax will be a superstar.

Zat mate, he's the one left-back we had available and he should have played.

Digne isn't injury prone. And he could have got injured doing his hamstring in the warm up for the game. The only way to ensure no injury was to leave him out of the squad altogether. Having him on the bench, then not bringing him on when our entire game plan was to lump aimless crosses in, is just ridiculous.

Inter have already said they only want a loan with no obligation. It's going to end up being Chelsea and I can guarantee you they have the stronger bargaining power atm.

We have no idea whats going on with transfers.

You cant risk playing someone when youve already signed their replacement and have no wriggle room.

….i don’t think any Evertonian needs an excuse to have a go at Benitez, we watch Everton play.

'Play' being a loose term.

"We can't risk playing someone" to the detriment of the team.

Utter drivel.

End up with someone like James who plays 1 game in 3 months when he can be bothered.
He played a lot more than that like and was really good. His quality lifted the entire club when he came in.

Players obviously need to be driven and motivated. That's part of the management.

I can't look at the team that played on Sunday and say they didn't put effort in. They're just awfully managed and a few of them are crap.

Being young and hungry only gets you so far. If you're managed badly, in an ill-suited system, chopping and changing positions etc, it does nothing but send you backwards.

why are people so obsessed with players being hungry?
I think its a fair point. We've signed an awful lot of people who lack commitment and seem content to coast through matches. We probably need to sign players who see us as a stepping stone because they are the players with the right level of ambition. Sad, but thats where we are.

Depends how you interpret the word. I equate hungry players to those with desire and those with desire win second balls.
Yeah, that's kind of basic stuff. I think most of our players have that desire. They're just in a shape that is totally wrong and half of them don't have a clue what they're doing. So again, being 'hungry' only gets you so far.

Dom won loads of first balls the other day but had no players within 30 yards of him because the system was wrong. Nothing to do with the lads being hungry or not. It's a phrase that winds me up tbh.

I'd say Ben Godfrey is an extremely 'hungry' player. But he's playing dreadfully at the moment.

If they're not managed/coached properly then it means nothing.
