Longstaff is Cleverley 2.0. A player everybody said "he's awful, we need to avoid" yet they bring will inevitably bring him in and we can't get rid at all. Although, fair do's to Cleverley, he got a move away instead of just sitting on stupid wages.

We still need an attacker of some sort. We play 4-2-3-1. Realistically Gray, Townsend, Gordon, DCL and Richarlison are good enough for those 4 positions. Otherwise it is down to Iwobi or Rondon you see. A winger / playmaker is needed as well

I have posted here a good few times in the past and I often pop in to read the views. So far I think you guys should be happy, two new much needed fullbacks and decent ones at that. These positions were the biggest gripes I have seen here in the past.
There is obviously a problem with Digne, lots of Villa fans wanting us to sign him but the general feeling is he will go to Chelsea to replace Chilwell or City to replace Mendy. How the hell can a player that can't get in the Everon side be linked with two of the teams in England and then Toon offer 22.5m plus Longstaff for him. Is it an attitude issue he has or is the waiter being an idiot?

"Doing a job" isn't gonna cut it if you are aiming for a top 6 finish or getting to a Cup Final mate!

Agree to disagree I just think people are getting carried away with Gordon based on his brace against Brighton - lads still developing and Townie has always been hot and cold hence him being a squad player for Crystal Palace ultimately.

Our options now are good if you aim for 10th-12th every season and accept 2-3 injuries will kill you.

Squad Depth/quality has to be the aim long term.

The manager kerbed the attacking side of his game and the defensive side has declined in the last eighteen months. Then as Benitez has lost games he was said to be one of the players who criticised the tactics and questioned him so Benitez dropped him and hasn't made up with him since. Made an example of him and then sought to replace him.It's a crying shame really. Why we are all in on Benitez is beyond me.
