If at the end of the window our business is:
In -
Mykolenko for ~17m
Patterson for ~12m
Brennan Johnson for ~12m
Longstaff for ~7m

Out:
Holgate for ~7m
Digne for about 25m

Are we content? Obviously nobody wants to lose Digne but that ship has sailed. Coming in we have 3 young players with potential and Longstaff all on fairly reasonable fees.
No longstaff 7 mill is just crazy has to be better deals. The reported 1 mill is fair

It seems simple to me. The strategy is sustainable as long as the players are good. Iwobi Gbamin Gomes Mina Richarlison Digne Kean and others were brought in under Marcel Brands and all of them in theory were at an age where they could be long term investments and have good resale value but unfortunately only one or two of them have actually been any good for us so they aren’t seen as good signings and the policy isn’t seen as a good one or sustainable because these players are still a drain on wages despite not being over 30. You agree with me too because I’ve seen your comments on longstaff but obviously you’re excited by the other two so don’t want to hear it.
The average age of the ones you've listed is probably still too high. It is better than spending real money on Allan and Doucoure but you're still talking about players who are hitting 27 or 28 when their initial contract is up.

Mykolenko will be 27 when his initial contract is up?

Kulusevski is like a slippery eel on that right flank.

Is that good?

Ages in brackets:

GK: Pickford (27)
RB: Patterson (20)
LB: Mykolenko (22)
CB: Godfrey (23)
CB: Branthwaite (19)
DM: Allan (30)
CM: Doucoure (29)
CM: Gomes (28)
LW: Richarlison (24)
RW: Gray (25)
ST: Calvert-Lewin (24)

SUBS
LW: Gordon (20)
ST: Dobbin (19)
ST: Simms (20)

Bin off the rest and reinvest into the team.

Keane our most experienced defender, but absolutely awful. Holgate also not good enough.

Mina, Delph & Gbamin can’t stay fit.

Iwobi the worst player I’ve ever seen play for Everton.

• Don’t need 3 right backs so sell Kenny.

Brennan Johnson will go for more than 12m mate! We would be looking at around the 20m mark! Plus other sides will be sniffing

The way he is playing at the moment, its not unlikely that Forest could get promoted with him, so they would need a decent bit of cash to part with him mid season!

We will get more for Holgate than 7m, he ticks all the boxes, English and Crap with good premier League experience, starting bid 17m.

Excellent player but £14m is a bit steep.

5 goals and 4 assists for a 20 year old who spent a season in League 1 (40 apps/10 goals/14 assists)

Has shades of Bellingham who is obviously a step above but has a bit of everything can score, assist and not afraid to get stuck in.

Forest pushing for a playoff spot under Steve Cooper (who is an excellent coach by the way) so they have every right to ask for that price.

For me, we have Simms, Onyango and Dobbin (if he signs his contract) who could make a great counter offer on loan should Forest be open for a move; offer £8-10m with add-on plus a loan
