Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

All day long this.

The players like Delph, James, etc. That when they get here it all gets a bit comfy with no expectations- pick and choose when they play and standards drop off.

Young, hungry, up and coming players or players with a point to prove- the sort we used to sign in Baines, Pienaar, Cahill, Coleman, Fellaini, Arteta. I see similarities with Gray, Patterson and Mykolenko.

Thats why I would much rather we go for Johnson of Forest than Coutinho to help develop and grow a club of players that want to be here and have the desire to improve and grow together.

*Caveat- I do have a feeling Coutinho will go somewhere and make a real difference to them ie. Villa.
While i 100% agree with this!

You do need a good few heads in there to keep it all together! When Cahill & Arteta1 first arrived, they always spoke so highly of the likes of Dunc & Weir etc, you cant just throw a huge group of kids on the pitch.

Abit like Martinez's first year when a lot of the time we had 4 20 year olds on the pitch (Lukaku, Delofeau, Barkley & Stones), the likes of Jags, Barry, Howard & Baines were massively important to that side (the first 3's legs began to go in the following years which messed it up)

I look at Leicester when they are fully fit with the likes of Schmeichel, Evans (especially partnering Forfana) & Vardy, complimenting the likes of Maddison, Barnes, Tielimans & a few others.
You also see at the reds a lot of the time, they can easily throw the likes of Elliott or Curtis jones in that midfield 3 pretty easily as they have Henderson & Fabinho (Wijnaldum before) basically schooling the lads through the game

Its why i wouldn't be adverse to signing a centre back around the 30ish mark (providing his head is in the right place)

Agreed mick. And I wouldn't even have the caveat about Coutinho - I think he's done at the top level. Be better off going back to Brazil.

Just the attitude of this team for years now has been nobody who fights for the shirt trying to push the rest of the players on. Middle of the pitch cb and cm is a massive problem which the club need to fix.

Agree....we dont have alot of 'Alpha's' on the pitch!

Only problem is there's about a £30m difference in their valuation. Will have to see some outgoings before we could consider a deal for him.
Just get him first give mid finger to ffp.

Kenny, Delph, #10, Digne, Tosun and the third choice keeper. All of their wages are gone by June. We may sell Holgate in January too.

Guimarães - CM
Kulusevski - Winger

Then we are good to go and time should be given to the manager if he is able to sign quality young players. Kulusevski loan with obligation to buy in the summer. Guimarães on perm. Digne will go. Sell Holgate. Kenny, Delph, Tosun and Gbamin loan out or sell (anyone) to fund the deal.
