Signing players like Coutinho is how we got into the mess we're currently in. He'll be 30 in the summer, on extortionate wages and has a poor injury record.

That said, I think on a short term deal until the end of the season he'll be pretty good for Villa. He's basically using this loan now as an opportunity to get himself in the shop window come end of season - much like Lingard did with his West Ham loan.

Tired of players past their best or not even that good picking up big wages and getting little in return.

Coutinho is well swerved for me.
He will be much like James, injured a lot I’m fed up with players getting injured all the time, sometimes with our squad you’d think they are made from porcelain and Coutinho would be another one added to that.

Gray has been arguably our best player though?
couldnt agree more, but in general there is so much needed to even make this side competive. I think slow building is the way to go, but no way in the world should we by signing Rondon, or Longy from newcastle.. maybe i am being harsh, but that is probably driven by the terrible way we play and the terrible run of results.

TBH I didnt realise it was only a short term deal. If it was us it would have been a 3 year bad boy

The one thing I'm pleased with under Benitez so far is the profile of player we're being linked with.

We've been so short-term for so long. I hope this trend continues.
Rondon , Begovic and Townsend might beg to differ there mate

Rondon was a bad signing, every manager has them. The way he is being used to further ruin our manager is weird though. He was free ffs, not like some of our previous efforts
