This is a real “ please” well it’s a “pretty please”

The rumours in the Deep South re RLC and yep Ross Berkley ( see what I did there) just wont go away that you will be in for both of these two.

Buy one and it seems get one free, well on loan anyway!

As I say a pretty please although if you get RLC he is a powerful midfielder who just needs to get his mind over his ACL which is probably the only thing holding him back

We've got no loan spots left now. So if we are after them, it's on permanent deals.

Really don't think Barkley is going to be well received. Plus, didn't Lampard loan him out to Villa pretty sharpish when he was in charge at Chelsea?

Possibly a massive stretch but Valverde at Madrid is only getting a few mins here and there off the bench.

If by some miracle we could bring him in on loan with a buy option then that would be massive.

Madrid are also looking at Tchouameni (someone i rate highly at Monaco) and also moving on Mbappe and Haaland in the summer potentially.

So, its not beyond the realms of possibility.

Camavinga hasnt had too many minutes either and could slot in at Defensive midfield.
Some Twitter wham suggesting that Carlo has offered a loan or two to Frank.

Fingers crossed there's substance in it.

If Holgate goes to Brighton it'll mean Potter sees him as a good defender as they have one of the best defences in the league.

Would make me think we've missed a trick.
I think one of the things that makes Potter seem pretty impressive as a coach is that they have that good defensive record without any of their defenders being individually particularly good. It's more to do with their structure and tactical set up than the quality of the players in the defence itself, so it wouldn't necessarily mean Holgate had been identified as an outstanding centre half who was going to go on to win 50 England caps, more just that he was capable of doing what they need him to do.

Dyche had done the same at Burnley too at points. Mee, Tarkowski, Keane all look like solid centre backs under him.

As individuals they're poor.

Think the rule is 2 from the premier league. You can loan from abroad but you can only have 4 loans in 1 season.

We did that under Martinez with Lukaku, Barry, Delufeou.

Ultimately this is what defending is all about; you don't need individual excellence (though that helps), you need the right scheme, and the players capable of following the instructions to play it.

It's why I can't get my head around the castigation of the likes of Keane, Holgate and most prevalently John Stones when he was here. The recent systems were off and the players became exposed as a result.

Cast your mind back a whole year and recall how well Michael Keane was playing in a functioning and solid defence under Ancelotti. Now he's become the worst player we've ever signed and consigned to the scrap heap by all and sundry. Defenders need an air of confidence in their play, and certainly need confidence in the shape and defensive tactics. All confidence has long since sailed at Goodison. Hopefully Lampard has learned the art of defensive shape in the past 18 months, or at least has faith in Clement or Edwards to instil this.

Holgate will be good for Brighton as a right centre back in their three, or as an improvement on Veltman as a right back/right wing back when they choose not to unleash Lamptey. That said, it's probably time for him to move from Goodison.

Leicester's title winning team.

Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs

Grocks to a man, but they were impenetrable due to the tactics - funnel the play wide and force the oppo to hit high crosses.
Ironically, had they played against that Leicester side with Vardy they'd have been destroyed!
