Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Then Id suggest the game hasnt changed so much, and there are still good values out there in the summer. We will be just fine signing Ndiaye's.

I also recall that neither Cahill or Arteta were purchased in the winter.

This is a post that's well-meaning but indicative of how far we've plummeted in the last few decades as a football club.

Nope.

I'm looking for stability.

If you feel stable with what has all the hallmarks of a manager hired to be here until the summer and owners who dont even acknowledge they own the club and haven't visited the place yet, then that's fine.

I dont.

I think it's becoming VERY noticeable to Everton supporters that there's no hands on governance of this football club and it's beginning to grate...especially when a window has just gone with almost zero additions to a squad that's screaming out for them.
You literally have no idea what is going on in the club!!

Key for me is the team whilst small will have little to no dead weight left on the books draining wages for players not wanted.

Gives us the chance to have a very efficient use of wages
Young hungry players with strength and speed is the way to go. Some experience as well. I'm hoping we have these targets lined up and don't wait till the season starts. I'm getting excited about getting rid of some of these players and getting new players in who are up for the fight. But then again it's Everton I'm also prepared to be disappointed 😞

Just tried to quickly list players we have in now, who I think are contracted beyond this season

Jordan Pickford

Nathan Patterson
James Tarkowski
Jake O'Brien
Vitalii Mykolenko
Jarrad Branthwaite

James Garner
Tim Iroegbunam
Dwight McNeil
Iliman NDiaye
Harrison Atmstrong

Beto
Chermiti

I figure these are off;

Joao Virginia
Asmir Begovic
Michael Keane
Seamus Coleman
Ashley Young
Carlos Alcaraz
Abdoulaye Doucoure
Idrissa Gana Gueye
Orel Mangala
Jack Harrison
Jesper Lindstrom
Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Armando Broja

Yikes.
Beto might leave as well considering he might play second fiddle to a 20yr old. I think young and gueye might stay on for an additional year. I don't want us securing most of our loan deals if they are unable to consistently deliver till the end of the season. We must dip into the transfer window early next season or we will be barebones for preseason.

If anything we have an opportunity to sign the players we want and get rid of the dead weight. I don't think it's nearly as worrying as we think. Maybe we go after young cheap talent to fill out the roster or maybe we get some decent short term free signings in that aren't Ash. That is a lot of wages off the books. We should have room and I would bet the Friedkins have a big sponsor lined up for the docks. Let's wait and see.

I’m starting to nod at your posts lately .
It’s weird that they haven’t visited lately and very strange that they haven’t filled in the positions that need attention .
Kevin should have been replaced at a pretty low cost and the lack of signings can’t be down to PSR alone surely .
I’m starting to get a little concerned about the lack of communication coming from anyone that isn’t Moyes .
Let’s hope we are both wrong and we can look forward to a HUGE needed rebuild this summer .

Damn your Jedi mind tricks Davek .

I’m not with you regarding Moyes though . I see nothing wrong with him getting a contract till retirement age .
