Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

OK OK he's been binned out the door as quickly as humanly possible by Al-Rayyan, Olympiacos, Sao Paolo and Rayo Vallecano, but maybe just maybe he's saving the good stuff for the English Premier League.

He officially plays "when he wants to"

Signs for clubs willing to pay his premium (probably a clubs budget) then decides when he wants to play ("injured" "fatigue") rather than being someone a teams relies on.

Don Carlo said he indulged it cos he'd win more games when he plays. The ultimate luxury player.

Dyche would love it

But Richarlison didn't really score more, often in better teams. And he's the only one that is comparable.

And look, I've given a list of about 15 other players we have had, and none of them score more goals. So at some point people surely have to face reality?

I’m saying if you give the same chance to Richy and dom has Richy finishes them more often than dom

As would most strikers in the league

Dom can’t score one on ones , can’t create his own chances , can’t score from outside the box , can’t finish with his left foot ..

He basically has to have it delivered to him within 8-10 years from goal … if we are creating those kind of chances then we would still be better off with a different striker

Face reality mate … you’re picking an 11 games period where he scored 16 goals to justify you’re argument and inhoring the other 8 years of crap he’s been serving up

8-10 years is I admit a long time to wait for a goal

Ridle Baku (RB) with only 6 months left on his deal probs going to Leipzig for €2.5-5m. These are the sorts of deals a PSR-shackled side like ours needs to find.

100% thats a bargain.

In talks with Flamengo full back Wesley according to a couple of Brazilian hacks.

Mountain of salt obviously

Anyone speak Portugezzer?

ANOTHER ENGLISH CLUB SHOWS INTEREST IN WESLEY!

Everton is yet another English club that has shown interest in signing full-back Wesley. According to journalist Thiago Asmar, a source close to the athlete revealed that negotiations are advanced and are just waiting for a decision from Flamengo's board of directors. The new offer is expected to be between 20 and 30 million euros. In addition, a fourth European club is also in the running, but its identity has not yet been revealed.

The lad looks pretty decent. Loves to go forward and looks rapid.

Milan are interested...Apparently Flamengo have already rejected a 20mil bid from them so this probably a none starter.

Might be the owners choice. The lad looks insane, and only 20. That alone has me in doubt that he'd come to us

This kid is in the:

Campeonato Brasiliero team of the season
Copo do Brasil team of the season

The highlights on youtube make him look supercharged.

You would expect that the only way we could get a player like this is by putting 100% of the fee down upfront.

Had a good look at this lads career & what Flamego's fans think of him.
He has stepped up over the last year or so , but not sure he is ready for the step up to a bigger league like the Prem.
Price wise they think asking over 10 mil is about right , snap your hands of for 12 mil.

Where did you see what their fans thought of him?

Interestingly, not had a look in for Brazil youth or full squads. Although seems to have played in every game for Flamengo the past 2 seasons who finished 3rd and 4th...named in two competitions teams of the season for 2024.

I expect that this is going to be the most exciting link of the window.

I just can't see TFG letting their newly acquired asset crumble, that means we need players in, it has to happen 100% if not they risk relegation and the new shiny stadium and new club will be on the verge of collapse.

We need to see some action, we have too many problems for silence and inaction. Let's see how it plays out but we need players.

Dan Friedkin could now be more aggressive in January

Speaking on the matter, TBR Football’s finance expert Adam Williams has told Everton News this could mean Dan Friedkin could potentially bankroll a more aggressive January window.

“If The Friedkin Group really want to make a statement signing, they can do some short term manoeuvring in terms of PSR and free up more headroom to spend more than would have been prudent in recent windows,” he said.

“So if The Friedkin Group are willing to bankroll it, they can make more aggressive moves in the short term because they can be offset by future revenues.

“How does this relate back to Godfrey? Well, for PSR and accountancy purposes, profit from player sales – or, in this case, sell on clauses – is booked immediately whereas fees paid are amortised, typically over five years.

“That means that even if the sell-on clause is worth £200,000 to Everton, they could then go and spend £1m and it would have a net neutral impact on their profit-and-loss account and therefore their PSR position.”
