Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

It is possible to do more than one thing at a time.
Of course it is. But we've yet to see any evidence of the club doing anything under the new owners (transfers, sacking the dinosaur etc).

And we should have learnt about saddling ourselves with players that no other club would want. Should be looking to move Mykolenko on, not tying him down on improved terms imo.

Need to also look at Garner & Tarkowski as their deals expire next year.

Branthwaite, McNeil, Pickford, Iroegnunam, Chermiti, Patterson...and Beto all expire in 2027.

A two year extension on Mykolenko then look at selling him during the summer. Garner tie down on a long term deal, Tarkowski I'd let run into his last year, think by the end of next season he'll be in the Jags last season for us stage as he's definitely declined.

Relatively common practise with a player with 18 months left that even if you want to sell him you'd extend by a couple of years to avoid the 12 month left situation which reduces the value considerably.

Mykolenko is still relatively rated - especially abroad, enough that at his age and his wages we wouldn't struggle to find a buyer mate

He goes into the last year of his contract in June, the club is protecting is asset is all mate, he has a market.

The Napoli interest in him during the summer was genuine, if we brought in a new starting left back during the summer we'd be getting a fair few calls about his availability.

Current international also.

….thats all good and well if another club wants to buy him and he’s happy to leave, otherwise he becomes another ordinary player on an extraordinary contract.

There’s plenty of ‘assets’ out of contract next season that haven’t been ‘protected’, it’ll take a major influx of players to replace them. It all seems so disjointed.

We had bids form Napoli in the summer didn't we mate, he has a market.

Emery on Sky Sports yesterday came out and said he has loads of potential - but hasn't shown it yet. Which is very honest, but unusual for a manager to come out and say about one of his players.

Code for: flogging a dead horse?
He looked ace on loan last year and in a few early games for villa - maybe not training/bad attitude at the level needed in this league?
