I don't see another club giving him that sort of wage tbh, he is a poor player. We will see. At the end of the day knowing what we are like we will end up keeping him as Thewell just doesn't seem that bothered about the FB positions.

Devils advocate - disclosure though as I do like Thelwell.

We have a manager whose requirements for the fullback spot are amazingly limited and specific. Rarely go forward, don't overlap, maintain defensive solidity and tuck in to congestion the middle.

So for Thelwell to get a player that Dyche would okay he'd have to hit all those marks - getting someone like that who then also provides a lot going forward too - you'd be looking at a very elite level player.

Saw the links to the Brazilian and Danish lads at FB, simply put Dyche won't play them as both are attack minded overlapping FBs, same to a great degree with wide players and no. 10s too.

Can't stand Moyes but at least he eventually learnt to play talented players who didn't quite fit his own mentality.

I genuinely don't think the following Moyes players would play in a Dyche side. Arteta, Osman, Baines or the young Coleman who first broke through.

More alarming is I don't think he'd have ever played Sheedy either... He'd arguably have sat the Lukaku who came on loan behind a DCL also.

I'd take the lad for what Villa 'actually' paid once the sell on fee went back to them, think around 12m was the real fee they handed over.

Basically Villa had a buy back option on whatever fee Hull accepted when he was sold initially to them.

So when Hull accepted 18m Villa activated the clause and then Villas buy back percentage kicked in so yeah they paid 18m but then Hull had to pay them 6m of it back.
So overall they only paid 12m

We t u see the radar at the time as well but the way the deal was done Villa ended up buying him back whilst making a PSR profit btw.

The 18m got spread over 5 years, the 6m came in as profit on this season, so net they made this season a PSR profit of 2.5m

He seemed very high on our list of targets in the summer, wonder will we go back, obviously wed have to do something with Broja or Harrison.

Seeing as we never score, or win, the cost would be minimal. I'd rather watch him stroll about doing f-all, than watch Doucoure & Harrison doing f-all.
