Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Following on from earlier reports

Sean Dyche’s side have been unable to convert their games into wins with only three victories to their name in the league.

Everton are eyeing two new signings in January to combat this, with a new midfielder and forward on the agenda.

However, that is not going to stop Everton from potentially adding to their defence if the right opportunity is to arise.

It has already been suggested Everton are showing interest in Kevin Danso to possibly strengthen their options at the back.

But there is a greater need for additions at full-back with a considerable number of options at Dyche’s disposal at centre-back.

And according to journalist Thiago Asmar, sources close to Wesley say the negotiations between Everton and Flamengo are advancing.

With a decision needing to be made by the Brazilian side, a new offer in the region of €20-30m (£16.5-25m) is expected to arrive.

However, the Toffees are not alone in the race to sign the 21-year-old full-back with another unnamed European side said to be in the mix.

Seamus Coleman has failed to secure his future at Everton with his contract set to expire at the end of the term.

And given Ashley Young is in the same boat, it seems the Friedkins may be looking to the future at right-back.

Good lord. Of all the priorities 🙈

I’m saying if you give the same chance to Richy and dom has Richy finishes them more often than dom

As would most strikers in the league

Dom can’t score one on ones , can’t create his own chances , can’t score from outside the box , can’t finish with his left foot ..

He basically has to have it delivered to him within 8-10 years from goal … if we are creating those kind of chances then we would still be better off with a different striker

Face reality mate … you’re picking an 11 games period where he scored 16 goals to justify you’re argument and inhoring the other 8 years of crap he’s been serving up

I mean that's a subjective opinion. My question would be why was he not scoring lots more goals when here then? Especially as he played in teams that created more chances?

And when all these other strikers come to Everton it's the same question.

And my analysis factors in 8 years, not 11 games mate.

Never coming to us with that attacking mind set. Dyche will never play him.
Don’t worry. He’ll need to get ‘Premier League fit’ so Dyche will have left in the summer before he gets on the pitch, by which time we’ll have a new manager w

I thought this was a joke. No doubt another player destined to be here on a silly wage for years after he’s been dropped with us unable to move him on. Never learn.

In all seriousness: no.
I’d be slightly tempted on a pay as you play deal this year as long as the pay per game was not extortionate and he wasn’t using up space in the squad, at the expense of someone trying to break through or a more permanent deal but he’s not a Dyche type player anyway so it’s a moot point.

I think it is difficult to criticise any player until you see them playing a different style of football under a different manager.

I believe Sean Dyche is a very strong character and you play his way or you don't play at all. I think O Brien might be learning that..
It is clear there is minimum scope for players to express themselves or take a risk. Hence, in my opinion, we have almost zero creativity.
I think DCL has been poor this season also but I would wager that in a different team with a different manager he will score goals.

It is possible to do more than one thing at a time.
Past experience tells us that at Everton it isn’t. Can already see how this pans out- at the end of another ‘disappointing’ transfer window when Everton ‘tried their best, but it’s difficult to do deals in January.’ They’ll then point to the positive news of new deals for Mykolenko and someone else we’d all probably rather get rid of.
