It’s mad to think back how good he was for us at left back, given he was was a natural centre half! 😀 absolutely rampaging down the left, still probably one of the biggest (pleasant) surprises in recent years, kind of superb signings that we used to deliver regularly, yet possibly still one of the last ones we did bring in at real value. Insane to think how someone unleashed Moshiri with funds, only after Moyes had gone. I’ve only just got out of rehab yesterday after we paid £28m for Bolasie

I think he will see Mcneil abit like Osman. A steady player who occasionally comes up with a bit of pure magic. I'll always remember Ozzie scoring that last minute screamer against Portsmouth. I think it may of been the season we qualified for the champions league

Basically sit back, try to counter attack and rely on set pieces is the philosophy.

His price was so low but even then 5m was a decent fee be sure he missed their entire season in the oven as he'd broke his leg
 
Just seen Rico Henry is playing again for Brentford this weekend after a long time out.

He should've made the England squad a few years back imo as was playing at the level Robinson has reached at Fulham but Sir Southgate was not interested.

If he can string games together then I think Brentford might be open to selling him as they've coped without him for last 18 months and very clever with how they sell and buy.

He's far better than Myko going forward obviously and can play in different formations. Also been playing in prem since 2021 so pretty experienced at this level now. I think he's the type who'd appeal to Moyes as a steady eddie type and then can also sign a younger LB to develop in the background.

Cracking idea to buy a guy whose been out of footy for a year and a half ....

There's a lot of revisionism with Moyes but we were literally a Lukaku or other class attacker away from breaking the top 4 when they all used to monopolise the back end of the champions league. We did extremely well for a long time playing Cahill and Fellaini upfront. Apart from the top 4 we pretty much dominated every other team at Goodison for a long spell. Bottom half teams would come and struggle to put any phases of play together at all.
