It will come down to deadline day / day before as usual and if we're lucky. It's symptomatic of our weak position and having to wait for selling clubs to make decisions.

Absolutely, we could also try and rush through a stadium sponsor.

Doesn’t mean that’s the way they want to do it.

Look around the league nobody is throwing caution to the wind, even those really well placed like Newcastle.

I'm not expecting big spending, but we need an attacker. We don't need to throw caution to the wind to improve this squad. It should be extremely easy to bring in players who are better than our current attackers

It really isnt. It is frustrating for sure, but no way could they get players in without knowing who was going to be in charge and what was needed. They do now need to get a move on though and I presume they are flat out in doing so

Well a DoF job is to identify players who are fit for purpose in case of managerial changes.

Thelwell has had 4 months of the season to see what's needed.

This morning, we need exactly what we needed yesterday, last week, last month and for the past 4 months.

I think there were rumours of certain players not wanting to come here in the past because they didn't want to play for Dyche - Elanga for example. Also I'm pretty sure the manager has their role in player recruitment here, so Moyes would be at least consulted before anyone comes in IMO.

Been saying for a few weeks to spend anything we ideally need people out the door first this window. Right on the borderline for PSR for June so if we bring in without clearing decks first it’s a gamble and would force us to sell someone in the summer for less than value.

I’d be worrying about the summer in the summer Know it’s not ideal but it’s getting worrying now how weak wet are upfront

Yeh, I just presume they did not know who would be here, Kev, Dyche anyone. There is no way they could chuck money at players without this - we'd just end up in the same situation as the last 5 years if so.

I get the sentiment but it’s the reality of where we are.

If you look around the league nobody is spending massive yet, the clubs still believe PSR has teeth. Newcastle would have gone all out otherwise with an outside shot of a title.

I'm still not convinced that a striker is what we need. I think we need better service. We definitely need a right winger and we need to replace doucoure too. That should be the first thing. Imagine how many more opportunities we would create. Yes Calvert Lewin isn't scoring but look at some of the villa chances missed they were far better chances. Calvert Lewins were half chances at best the left footed shot was going away from goal and the one at the end was a poor ball by lindstrom as it was bobbling around quite high.

Newcastle have to spend a fortune to bring someone in to improve their team. We don’t. There is not a worse player in the division right now than Harrison.
