Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

It's frustrating that we haven't signed anyone and we are half way through January. I hope we don't leave it until deadline day and panic buy, although you could argue that's exactly what we are doing now. Clubs will know we're desperate for players and will try and push the fee up. If we can send Broja back and get another loan in that would help. We can't afford to get any signings wrong, because if we do then I fear this might be the season when we do go down.
Problem is that the longer we take, the more likely we'll end up with a panic buy. Clearly there must be a list of players that we are going through which is probably the same list for the last 2 windows. We tried for Philogene but were not able to convince the player which is mostly the work of a dof, in this case thelwell. Not sure who is second in the list, but we seem to go after the same targets time and time again so expecting to approach leeds for gnonto in the coming weeks...the lack of imagination from our recruitment team is beyond pathetic and clearly not the level of a premier league club.

That's terrible man management when you have a load of players who've got us through in the last two years.
Disagree. It's a call to arms. Time to enter the trenches. You need to look at the man next next to you and be ready to die for him. If you're not with us then you're gone.

The lack of action reflects badly on TFG:

They are unaware of the cost of relegation - poor if so

They are aware of the above but lack urgency - poor if so

It starts at the top and sets a precedent throughout the club.

I think that they have been quick to replace the manager and restructure the debt.

The club is stuck in it's old habits though.

10 minutes late for a press conference

Late in getting players in, in the transfer window

Late with a through ball from midfield

Late at whipping a good delivery ino the box

Late a closing players down

Slow start to the season

It starts from the top what is acceptable
and needs a change in culture.

I get the calls for a creative midfielder and it would be good, but I think if we got some pace on the right and Mcneil returns you put him left and Ndiaye behind the striker, Ndiaye is a split striker/number ten not a winger he only plays there because we have recruited so poorly and have been in a position where we have to be hard to beat but now we need goals and wins. We absolutely need a striker I would be starting Beto over Dom for now

Disagree. And are they aware or not ? You somewhat contradict your own point between points 2 and 3. Which is it ? They're aware they're unaware ? Or unaware they're aware. Confusing 😕
