Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

I mean, there’s clearly potential there, but he is far from top class currently, and already seems to have a few injury issues.

For the amount they would want, it’s a risk and with the limited money we have, can we afford to take that risk? Yes TFG have money, and we were ‘PSR compliant’ but we may have just scraped compliance for all we know.

I’d rather spend the money on him than say Broja but like I say, it’s a big risk for a lot of money and it’s putting all our eggs in the basket of an unproven 20 year old who has failed to oust a 34 year old Danny welbeck. Really, we need a starting senior striker and Ferguson would be the support for them. But again, money.

A fair opinion mate, and one I shared up until DCL got injured, I'm kinda at the point I want the club to show ambition and go for those players who could be something special - had enough years of watching us simply sign journeymen or faded once good players with zero ambition left for stupid sums.

I do think PSR had its legs cut from under it this season actually, clubs flagrantly circumnavigated it and the league showed it's powerless to stop what we're essentially on enters/DoFs at clubs making secret handshake deals to get around PSR, so us spending more than we can I think is very easily fixable before the June cut off date.

….and it’s very unlikely we consider selling Keane with only 4 CBs on the books and even more unlikely we sell Doucoure, a regular starter especially with Mangala injured.
Both are poor and we should sell them to boost our transfer kitty Mr Eggs.

Garner is back, Tim hopefully next week, Armstrong is better than Doucoure.

Branthwaite Tarkowski and JOB are good, and if we can buy a RB that can cover CB we are fine.

We have to stop keeping mediocrity on the books just because.

Just my opinion.

any one of:
Ferguson
McAtee
Chukwuemeka (butchered that)

would be really good additions imo, unfortunately all very unlikely

All three are available pretty much though.

Weirdly I'd back Moyes to be able to convince two of the three for sure sbdto get the first two in, he obviously has a very close connection with Brighton's DoF Weir, and Moyes has a long standing good relationship with city too (when out of work btw he spent lots a fair bit of time time attending cities academy games)...

If there’s money available, and we don’t spend a penny, then we’re hanging Moyes out to dry after those 2 injuries.

Genuine few questions mate.

Would you buy Ferguson outright if it was the only option we had.

And second one, what type of fee would you regard him being worth the risk and what you think he would actually go for?

I think if they don't give Moyes money, we can be absolutely certain he is getting binned at the end of the season and their preferred manager is coming in. I also think that if push came to shove, Moyes could park the bus sufficiently well to get us a hatful of draws with the occasional mad win and keep us up. It would be a MASSIVE gamble though, so hopefully big Dan will smash his piggy bank and give Moyes some sweets money to tide us over.

Cant afford to be signing anyone with a bad injury record at the moment, or someone who is on the treatment table.

Broja (although I genuinely think hes a good player) is absolutely made of quavers and we should have steered clear, I get it kinda made sense at the time, but it was a massive gamble which hasnt paid off at all.

Time is ticking though, I actually didnt think we would make a signing in the window - and a couple would go out, with potential injuries to DCL and Mangala, we absolutely need to make signings now.

“Triggered by young men and transfers”, a Charlie Sweet story…

Just a reminder, Everton have zero domestic loan spots available so the club cannot loan anybody from another Premier league team. Unless Everton somehow strike a deal to send either Harrison or Broja back (or both) to their parent clubs, which they HAVEN’T and are reported at this time to not be pursuing due to the costs involved, a domestic loan is not an option ffs.

£10m for Doucoure 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Who the hell is Charlie Sweet ? A disruptor for sure. Maybe Zatara in disguise?

Bless you. You have mistaken Raphinha for Rafinha.

How about you actually inform yourself before you spout your nonsense next time. The last line of your post is correct but in reference to your post 🙄😂
I mean you did still suggest we sign BRANDON WILLIAMS, which is far more embarrassing than mistaking Raphinha for Rafinha

Sounds like Brighton only want to loan out Ferguson and his preferred destination is West Ham as he’s worked with Potter before.
