Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Was thought about as the new Alan Shearer but has done diddly for 18 months.

Would be an incredibly expensive gamble.

If you are Man U you can probably afford to take the chance.

Everton can't.

Take a look at his mins to goals ratio. Only recently turned 20.

Brighton of course signed a couple of centre forwards who will start over a homegrown player. They arent like an Everton who love big 9s.

I think if we want to keep our Everton-ness then he's a player that seems to fit the mould.

2 goals in 18 months.

Hmmm think I'll pass

When he plays he has a decent return.

Massive off field issues with him hence why they are probably willing to let him go, no doubt he is a talent but id steer clear myself.

Lots of different rumours about him.

But when he is on the pitch he looks like an Everton 9. Not long ago he was being talked up as a future £100mil+ player

Apparently we were one of a number of clubs that trialled him before he went to Brighton. Said he went there because they had the best pathway.

Fantastic finish the other week.

What are the issues? I heard something about partying, I think?

Apparently just got sucked into the Brighton lifestyle a bit too much, its a bit of a killer for youngsters of his age group as there is always something going on pretty much 24 hours a day. Many of the students fall into it also and bail on the courses. Lots of stories about Ferguson and professionalism/behaviour around club.

I hope we're looking at spending £100mil on replacing squad players & £100mil on a few high potential players like this.

Thats a gradual spend over several windows. With the 3rd season being another £100mil on stars to take us up a level.

With the right manager, good recruitment and some luck that may take us back to the top 6. We'd need some big sponsorship deals for PSR.
I don't believe we will be spending large amounts on any player.
I believe we will be focusing on the McNeill Ndiaye,Garner type of signing, maybe Broja as well.
Young players with potential at an affordable price.

What, you mean he can't find the back of the net even with a map and compass

They won't get anything like £100m for him imo, not even close, Id be surprised if they got more than £40m

Agree, id rather we raided the Championship tbh, there are some cracking players down there atm. Id steer clear of Broja though he isn't the answer and even when he was fit at Saints he is no goalscorer, certainly not one that can be relied upon, that would be a massive waste of money imo,

The £9-20mil range would be the first £100mil and the second £100mil allocation I'd guess would be for 3 or 4 more expensive players. All signings u23.

The 3rd £100mil id hope we go for a couple of stars to take us back towards the top.

£300mil over 3 seasons imo is needed.

Yeah now £35-40mil id guess. But when he was coming onto the scene 2 seasons ago he was being spoken of as a future £100mil player and someone who will reach the very top.

Would need a strong manager and a lot of effort but worth it i think.

Any names stand out for you currently to keep an eye on?

Everton are hoping to take advantage of Lyon’s situation to broker a cut-price deal for Orel Mangala, according to Foot Mercato.

The French outlet reported via their website on 16 November that the Toffees are “rubbing their hands” as they look to make Mangala’s loan move from Lyon permanent at a discounted rate.
As if.

Chakvetadze and Larouci at Watford, midfielder and LB respectively, I think Chakvetadze is up there as one of the best players in the league, ball carrying midfielder type, he is 25 but he is a clear level above the vast majority of the Championship, be surprised if Watford keep hold of him. Larouci is quick, 23 and gets up and down the left side. Still like Hackney and obviously there are guys like Rigg, Neill and Bellingham. I could list loads tbh. Try and watch a Watford game if you can, Chakvetadze is class mate, all those Georgians just seem to be so good on the ball.

I would not give up on Broja just yet.
Only recently turned 23 and has had a bad time with injuries which sometimes happens to young players.
However, he is big strong and very athletic.
I am hoping he could turn into a very good player yet.
