Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Get Ben Chilwell on loan from Chelsea on January first. Tell him he starts every game he's fit. Wants to rub Chelsea's noses in the ground, put some performances in here.
Is there a big lump of a striker about anywhere like Chris Wood? Someone a bit more physical that isn't made of bone china?

Mason Melia has been flagged on here by myself and others for the the last 2-3 seasons and he is still only 17 and, given Brexit, is available to talk to clubs officially in January and move once he hits 18.

We are allegedly one of 8 Pl clubs in the mix but Spurs have already offered 3m in 2025 and to loan him back to Pats for one more season. He could be ours for 5m (one fifth of a Beto) and has a massive ceiling. Having watched him all season here, he is a level above Evan Ferguson in terms of his development at the same age. This is exactly the type of relatively low cost deal we should be all over. Should be.

On the one hand he's a proper tosser. On the other hand, there's nothing bad with having a windup merchant as long as he's on your team rather than the opposition. I'm mixed with this one, he turns 28 in less than a month, and has had an ACL injury so his legs may go sooner than later, but he is a better option than Myko. I've a feeling Chelsea will want a comparitive fortune for him though to balance the books a bit given the 40 deep squad. Depends on what that is though and whether we can force them into giving him on a cheap loan first as a try before you buy.

Broja is on loan from Chelsea so we can’t loan him so would have to buy and they will ask for silly money.

Him, Pickford, and Branthwaite are the only actual quality players we have. Gana at a push, but he’s past his best. The rest have the looks of a 7th place championship side which is probably where we’ll be next year. He deserves better than what’s around him.

Contracts expiring in the summer:

GK: Virginia / Begovic / Crellin
DF: Coleman / Young / Keane / Holgate
MF: Gana / Doucoure / Mangala
WF: Lindstrom / Harrison
ST: DCL / Broja

14 Remaining players:

GK: Pickford
DF: Mykolenko / Tarkowski / Branthwaite / Patterson / O'Brien / Dixon
MF: Garner / Iroegbunam / Armstrong
WF: McNeil / Ndiaye
FW: Beto / Chermiti

What TFG need to do is bring in 2 or 3 players in January & aim for a couple of players to bring in on either pre-contract agreements or to loan back to their clubs until the summer.

So we need to make 4-5 signings in January.

Otherwise it will be extremely difficult to do so much work in the summer window to improve half a squad.

Alot problems fb offer nothing going forward put wide have real width pace with Ndiaye moving into the 10. For me has to be going for a rw and lb and more

Not a single player I would fight to keep on them expiring.

He’s on about £270 million quid a week. Never happening.

The worry with the Jan window is a few prospective signings will look at O'Brien not getting a kick and Mangala being dropped yesterday and thinking do I want to warm the bench in a relegation battle?

Need a change of manager first before thinking of the 2-3 players that will save the season I think.
