Thank god we dropped about 17m quid on a fourth choice center back. I was having sleepless nights over whether we'd have enough defensive players on bench every week before Jake arrived.

Whatever the fee was, it was a pointless waste of limited funds if the lad is never going to play and sit on the bench as 4th choice. Holgate could have done that or an academy kid or a loan signing, and we could have put the money to better use on a position that is actually a priority.

We were lucky to keep him last summer, will be lucky to keep him in January and highly unlikely to keep him next summer.

Having O Brien already at the club as his replacement will seem like very good business when JB is sold.

How is he a flop when he's only played a matter of minutes as Dyche kept playing his favourite Keghead.

Lyon have received that fee yes but with add-ons, signing on fees, agent fees etc etc he cost us between £16-£18m

I read a few months ago that the Saudi League wanted him, plus Doucoure and Gana. I dont mind any of the players going, as long as we get players in to replace them. We dont want to be in a situation where they all go on deadline day and we are left short of players

If we could sell Doucoure & DCL in January they wouldnt need replacing as we have bodies.

I think the squad is quite small, we certainly need a striker and given how brittle some of our other midfielders are I would want a replacement for Doucoure as well.
