Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

On the one hand he's a proper tosser. On the other hand, there's nothing bad with having a windup merchant as long as he's on your team rather than the opposition. I'm mixed with this one, he turns 28 in less than a month, and has had an ACL injury so his legs may go sooner than later, but he is a better option than Myko. I've a feeling Chelsea will want a comparitive fortune for him though to balance the books a bit given the 40 deep squad. Depends on what that is though and whether we can force them into giving him on a cheap loan first as a try before you buy.
How is he a tosser as you say ? Anyway doubt he'd ever consider coming here. Decent full backs don't come cheap these days.

The worry with the Jan window is a few prospective signings will look at O'Brien not getting a kick and Mangala being dropped yesterday and thinking do I want to warm the bench in a relegation battle?

Need a change of manager first before thinking of the 2-3 players that will save the season I think.
Thank god we dropped about 17m quid on a fourth choice center back. I was having sleepless nights over whether we'd have enough defensive players on bench every week before Jake arrived.

The players are doing what they are told by manager and coaches.

You would have to see them under a different set up before reaching a judgement.
100% correct.

We have one of the most out-dated and inept managers in the business "coaching" (I used that word loosely) his players to do things how he wants them done the way he wants them done, playing his favourites no matter what, doing the same thing every week, because that's what worked at Burnely ten years ago.

Any half decent modern coach would have the team playing differently, and almost certainly getting better results in the process.

Whatever the fee was, it was a pointless waste of limited funds if the lad is never going to play and sit on the bench as 4th choice. Holgate could have done that or an academy kid or a loan signing, and we could have put the money to better use on a position that is actually a priority.

I agree.

Get Beto sold or loaned back to Italy in January. Broja and Chermiti are better options. The savings on Beto’s wages can cover sacking Dyche.

Both he and DCL should have been sold in the summer and the funds used on one top signing.

Hutchison at Ipswich looks a player

Former wonderkid.

McKenna is doing a good job there.

Agree but still think is clear what this team need like a right winger so we can still make plans even with dyche here still want him gone now

He should have started every game this season up until the west ham game. Simple as.
