Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

We use to hear a phrase in the Moyes years "we go with what we've got " I have a feeling we will be hearing it again soon .
That is not a criticism of Moyes I would rather go back to dithering Dave than they way we have been in more recent years.
Moyes got it right most of the time unlike some of our managers since.
Rather not make panic signings . But with the current injury situation we have to add a couple. Be it short term so be it.

Then Young can play in that position. We currently have just Beto available as a striker . I just can't understand how you think not signing a striker isn't a priority
Because we don't have the funds to waste on a 5th striker.
You say Young can play there, but N'Diaye can play upfront if desperate, I'm pretty sure Doucoure could be put there in a Fellaini sort of role, you then have Sheriff who has made the bench also.

What happens if we sign another striker as a panic buy, but Beto is fine for 4-5 games and then Chermiti is back, we have wasted our time on resources on a 5th Centre forward

Any idea who it is mate? Are we likely to be excited or is it a bit of a 'meh' signing?

Sadly I think your friend is full of Scheiße and he's had you repeat his bull on here. Very sad.

I withdraw this comment if positive news does break however.
I really hope everybody will be happy.

I have no idea what the word Scheiße means, but if nothing breaks today I might Scheiße him.

Big issue we have also is that Beto wants to leave the club and has been pushing for a deal to go through so he can go to Italy

There will be someone coming in, West Ham pages are whining that we have jumped ahead of them for the Brobbery bloke from Ajax, small fee up front or loan and buy in the summer and that's why they have moved to Ferguson who I believe they will get, loan to buy. Plus, the talk on the Rangers forwards for small fee upfront and 12 million in the summer.

Don't we need to get someone in before 12.00 Friday so they can play against Leicester on Saturday?
Beto will play on Saturday, Beto has wanted to leave as he wasn't getting game time, he will see the next 5 months as an opportunity.

I'm not against trying to get a centre forward in, but you have to look at the bigger picture. If no one is availible or fits the remit, why bother wasting it on someone garbage.
We have our own garbage in Beto

Yup but as it's half way through the season any incoming only counts as 50% of a normal seasons payment.

My math is off slightly though it'd free up 45m not 50m

45m on a four and a half year contract works out at 10m amortisation per season so for a half season (now) 5m

This makes no sense mate.

Signed £25mil.

4 Year deal so £6.25mil per annum.

1.5 years at the club

Current value £15,625,000

Thats where we are...
