Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

I’ll be honest in saying I’m getting a little concerned over what’ll happen on deadline day. Not necessarily just because there’s no links, but just the language being used and the change of plans/priorties that the injuries would have caused.

In my head, a reasonable window that we could hope for is say, Igamane for £12/£15million, Marcus Edwards (I know this one is not happening but I dream) for a loan with obligation. Then you may have the chance for a Walker-Peters if the price is right. I have fully given up hope that Broja’s loan will be addressed. Make no mistake, he is Thelwell’s number one target in summer.

Getting 2 deals over line is a big ask, I fear 3 is a step too far.

I think Edwards would jump at the opportunity to join Everton. He definitely wants out of Sporting.

Out of interest, what striker would you go out and get for us then?
Now that is a difficult question. Unfortunately we have limited money in January, so it's not going to be for a massive amount of money. I think he'll either take a gamble on someone like Hamza Igamane from Rangers or he will bring in an experienced centre forward. Not ideal but I think it's a necessity

What time is everyone thinking of switching from “maybe they’re just going about their business quietly” to “ah god, we’re doing absolutely nothing again”?

Definitely some point in the next 24 hours for me but undecided whether to wait for morning or just do it before I go to bed.

That Igmane will cost around £15m, i doubt PSR would allow us to spend that much, that's why I'd prefer to keep our pallet dry. Unless Rangers would want a 'loan now, buy summer deal'. But id like to think we wee aiming for someone a bit more proven in the summer.

The Broja deal has been a disaster,

Tried to think of potential deals based on previous rumours at prices that aren’t complete pie in the sky. On paper, they should all improve us and are ages that either can produce immediately or get better over the next few years.

I hope you’re right, with the change in focus and potentially more painful talks with Chelsea over loan deals, there’s just a lot to do. I mean, if you can get 2 in and someone manage to turn Broja into a KDH loan then it looks a lot healthier.

Fingers crossed
I'm pretty sure we will see a striker, particularly with Dom's injury, and Broja out for 3 months.

I can't see Beto leaving now, but if he does, it will only be if we get another in, so time will tell there.

I'd expect a winger in because we are desperately short on pace, particularly on the right.

As you say, If the Chelsea loan deal can be sorted, that could possibly bring a midfielder in now that Mangala is out.

Outside chance of us bringing in a pacey attacking left full back, but I suppose that would be a bonus.
