Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Oh dear you're one of those.

I'm pretty sure we will see a striker, particularly with Dom's injury, and Broja out for 3 months.

I can't see Beto leaving now, but if he does, it will only be if we get another in, so time will tell there.

I'd expect a winger in because we are desperately short on pace, particularly on the right.

As you say, If the Chelsea loan deal can be sorted, that could possibly bring a midfielder in now that Mangala is out.

Outside chance of us bringing in a pacey attacking left full back, but I suppose that would be a bonus.
I think the 3-4 long term injuries, has put to bed the hope of getting a left back this window. We need 3 forward players. Not going to get them. But can

Why dont you list the actual signings down.

See how many there are that hes made (we know he didnt sign Maupay) and come back with a % of players we'll lose money on or make money on.

He joined in February 2022...

Hes bought:

2022–2023

Maupay - £10m
Garner - £10m

Onana - £30m.
McNeil - £20m.
Tarkowski – Free
Vinagre - loan
Gueye - £4m.
Coady - Loan.

2023–2024

Danjuma - loan
Jack Harrison - loan
Beto - initially £0 (potentially £25m)
Chermiti - £12m
Young - free

2024-25

O'Brien - £20m
N'Diaye - £18m
Iroegbunam - £10m
Lindstrom - loan (£2m)
Broja - Loan (pay nothing until fit)
Mangala - Loan
Begovic - Free.

Maupay aside, the players we've bought are pretty decent.

Think its a tough call on what we do. To get loans in we need to move some out. That's two negotiations at the same time, whilst hoping one doesn't change before you can get the other completed. Not as easy as it sounds.

Personally, ideal situation is we bring nobody in and stay up (which I think we will do now). We don't need to load the squad with more players that aren't suitable come next season. We need to break that cycle.

Think we really need to with another winger cos of mcneil leaves us just harrison as cover cm just tim for the cover, then 0 for beto. 3 for me was before the injuries now with them is a must .

Maupay, Vinagre, Harrison (just wages) broja, Danjuma, Beto have all been poor signings and wastes of money and/or loan spaces. Young last season was on that list but has been ok start of this season.

The rest have or will contribute.

You’d think getting one in before the weekend would be high on the priorities list. I know we can put one of the wide men in the number 10 spot and drop Doucoure deeper but that means we may have to see Harrison start again .

I don’t think he’s brave enough to start young Harrison and Garner lacks match fitness .

I hope at least one player comes in over the next 24 hours .
