Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Probably cos they dont know mate.

Every single human body is different, every single injury takes a different time with any 1 person.

It baffles me why people want precise timeframes, they cant give 1.

Next time you have surgery, I want you to DEMAND that the surgeon gives you an exact recovery time, see what he says.
lol if my doctor told me "I have no idea when you will recover. Some time between 1 day and 1 year, and you shouldnt lift heavy objects for some number of days or months" Id be livid. Ive NEVER heard of a surgeon that doesnt give a recovery timeframe, especially in this day and age of modern medicine.

There are a few words in the english language that can be used when one doesnt know how long it might be to express that, such as "unknown". I suppose you would also have been fine if they said he will be out "some number of days"?

We followed diarra for several weeks but now we're just going for carney.

Chelsea own strasbourg too so that's most likely their offer to replace Broja
Ta . I like the updates but being an uncultured oaf I struggle when they aren't in English

I know there's Google translate, but there are far better translators on here...

Because if they said 3 weeks everyone would be kicking off if he wasn’t back on the 21st day. It’s pretty standard and obvious really.
Its really not. Let me do a better job than the club. "Calvert-Lewin sustained a hamstring injury that is likely to sideline the striker for 2-3 weeks, provided there are no setbacks."

Im a miracle worker.

Oh are you the specialist they said they were getting an opinion off? Don’t tell me, you hadn’t actually read what they said had you?

No mate I'm not and I'm sorry if it comes across that way, I just think we need to move away from injury prone players that's all, we are our own worst enemy imo.
Fair play. I don't disagree with you on the risk at all. It'd be a brave decision to sign him, if they could, with no guarantees. As I said, I wouldn't like to be making this decision, if indeed there is a decision to be made here.

Longstaff is okay and uninspiring and 27.

Garner is a really good footballer, who can play well in several positions. Is a good passer, combative, has good close control, an excellent cross and a good set-piece delivery. He is still only 23 and has a high ceiling.

As for your CL point, Djimi Traore has won the bloody thing, so . . .
Agree Garner is a good player, Longstaff uses his physical attributes decently but it will fade just as we are seeing with Doucs

I expect that nobody is going to arrive in time for the Leicester game which is unfortunate given that it is a crucial game
Yeah is a gamble by the club because win the situation looks really positive, a defeat would out us right back in the mix. So both sides could help us in dealing with clubs or seeing the situation some teams will up the price because back in the mix of relegation

We've only really lost one player from the team that just beat Brighton (given that Beto came on in the 12th minute), we should still be pretty confident in the players that got the job done v Spurs and Brighton.

It's not the sort of desperate situation where you would rush through a transfer that maybe isn't a great deal just to have an extra body for one game.
