Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Yeah McAtee would have me doing windmills if we got him, only chance would be a deal happening before anyone got wind of it though as if City made it known he's available you'd have a host of clubs after him both here and abroad.

Just don't see any chance but then again still shocked Delap ended up at Ipswich and going back a few years still shocked we got Lukaku after his two loan seasons proving how good he was

Ferrari played right back and was actually a good player. Gardner and Senderos were squad fillers. Heitenga played alongside Distin who was physically imperious (Heitenga won player of the year I think). Kroldrup was a rare mishap but quickly corrected and he did the right thing by not playing him.
Discussion was around the pace of back 4, not quality.

And you included 2 loan players that played a total of about 2 games between them for us and Heitenga who played in a back four including Distin and Coleman (so a quick back four overall) and was player of the year showing not every player needs to be quick. If you look at our back 4s through the 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s the defenders signed by Moyes are all of the quickest players excluding Branthwaite.

Hopefully whoever we sign in this window is off Moyes’ list and not Thelwell’s.
No. Hopefully there is some harmony between the two of them. That's what we need to move forward. Both have the ability to spot talent, both have their flaws, but they need to work effectively together for the benefit of the club.

By all accounts, Dyche was extremely detrimental to our recruitment, as were previous managers. I want professional, sensible recruitment which merges the skills of both men, and if Thelwell goes, we need someone with skills in the role and the same goes.
