So if you back to Mark Douglas's last i piece he said the Friedkins were going to lean on Moyes's transfers expertise, so that suggests to me they'll let him select the targets and then Thelwell is charged with cutting the deal within the PSR limits. You think TFG put the money into the club that they have, and then trust their whole asset to Thelwell, a DOF who could be gone in a few months?
I'd be surprised.
Particularly given how hands on they've been with transfers at Roma. You know, like physically going to get the players themselves.
Do you think they let Thelwell make the call on Dyche too then? After all, he managed the club, why would TFG need to get involved?
I agree, but isnt it the DoF role to implement a style right through the academy to first team. That's every manager.
But ultimately, no player should come in without DOF approval.
I suspect thats where Moyes will end up - a DOF type role.
Players do come in without managers knowing who they are, or whether they wanted them or not - it has here under Ancelotti. And it's happened elsewhere, like Barkley at Chelsea.
Players don't come in without DOF approval.
The point is we shouldn't be making decisions on two results. We needed players before, Moyes has said as much. We just lost two. We need players even more now.
This guy has to be a wind up.
People say this (I may have in the past!) but I've yet to see any evidence that's the actual job.I agree, but isnt it the DoF role to implement a style right through the academy to first team.
Then he should employ a manager to suit the 'project'
Anyway, i guess now we have that many holes to fill they are probably discussing whats the priority with the what budget they have.
I'll don't disagree there. That was a much better way of puttingThe point is we shouldn't be making decisions on two results. We needed players before, Moyes has said as much. We just lost two. We need players even more now.
But we didnt! If we had capitulated to Tottenham and if Veltman hadn't gotten handsy, I think you'd feel differently. The urgency has never been greater with DCL and Mangala injured.
I meant Charlie Sweet. That’s the rumour isn’t it?
And his manager said his not physically or mentally fit to play games.
Not that he’s injured …
So he’s not taking care of himself physically and doesn’t seem to want to change that by the sounds of things ….
He’s basically the Irish Delle Ali … but wasn’t as good in the first place
It's like recruitment in any business. The direct manager will have a say in it.Erm what? Manager definitely gets a say. You can’t just sign players the manager might not like whatsoever or they’ll never play them
Were did i say we didn't need players, all that was said was i feel more 'at ease' with it, with Moyes in charge and i'm happy for him to take his time to get the right players. The point is we shouldn't be making decisions on two results. We needed players before, Moyes has said as much. We just lost two. We need players even more now.
He’s on record as saying Maldini was overrated and that Gary Stevens (who we all love) was a better fullback… I think that statement alone means anything he says about fullbacks/football is best ignored. This guy has to be a wind up.
Its a very 1 dimensional way of looking at it.People say this (I may have in the past!) but I've yet to see any evidence that's the actual job.
Now who's making big judgements over a single game?Brighton was a step backwards, though we lost our striker in the first third of the match. I thought the football was better against Villa and Tottenham.
I would say the U18s and U21s should play the same way as the first team, surely if they get called up then the transition shouldnt be so hard as they are already used to playing that way.People say this (I may have in the past!) but I've yet to see any evidence that's the actual job.
