We need a pacy winger on the right and move James to the middle, Bailey looks like the right fit, fastest player in the bundesliga, got injured last season and struggled for a start, this season he’s now done well, 20m price tag last summer but will be increased now unfortunately

Definitely this would be my priority. In saying that, Iwobi is proving that he's useful on the right. So he removes some of the urgency.

Sami Khedira has confirmed he seeks Juventus exit in January and hints he could join Everton.

The German midfielder has yet to make one appearance with Juventus so far this season and has been left out of the Bianconeri’s Champions League squad list.

The Old Lady are negotiating an early termination of his contract that expires in June 2021.

"I’m open to a new challenge. I had a bad time and I want to play football again, fighting for three points week after week. This is what I look forward to,” the Juventus midfielder told Bild.

“I still have a lot of strength and energy, so I don’t look at the summer of 2021, but [I can leave] in December or January. A change is realistic; that’s my main objective.”

Football Italia exclusively repoted Everton are in pole position to sign the former Real Madrid midfielder who has confirmed a move to the Goodison Park is a realistic option.

“With Carlo Ancelotti we often talk on the phone and write to each other. He knows my situation. It could end up being a completely different club. Even outside England," he said.

“It would be very fun to join a team with many young players, who I could help as a mentor in the field and share work experiences.”

If we sign Khedira we've learned absolutely nothing.

Agreed - level has fallen massively from his time at Madrid, small, niggling injuries starting to creep in, sizeable wages as well - more than happy to swerve this one and just see if Gbamin is able to get up to speed by the end of this season.

Would Khedira be a good short term option on a short term deal from Jan until end of season with option of additional year?

That was my thinking. On paper it’s not what I’d want because he doesn’t have the pace we need, but I can see the logic behind it. We have two midfielders Ancelotti trusts in Doucoure and Allan. After that it’s Delph (injured), Gomes (ok in a three but inconsistent), Sigurdsson (can’t play anywhere but number 10), Gbamin (injured). If we get a single injury to Allan or Doucoure it’s panic stations. Khedira on a free and on a realistic wage would be ok and would be another winning mentality at the club.

Pretty much alongside the striker, definitely not in the midfield.
Basically the same as sigurdson in the season he scored a few goals, pretty much playing as a forward but for some reason gets talked about as a attacking mid

Don’t see where he plays for us nor is he the type we need

Yep, if Gbamin was back up and running I'd say we would be fine.

Let's be honest as well, there's serious question marks over what Doucoure is actually bringing to the side currently. Could Khedira be the type of player to sit in front of the back 4 and shield them?

Maybe a short term deal would work well for all concerned. I haven't seen enough of him at Juve but Ancelotti has worked with all the top players before and you can see by simply watching Allan and Rodriguez, they are levels above what we've had over the years.

I think he's done ok tbh. He's excellent a picking up loose balls and makes good runs into the box. With better finishing he could already be on 5 goals this season. Yes his passing lets him down at times and he can look clumsy, he does a lot off the ball and is an important player. Again him + Allan would thrive if we had a sitter in midfield. Then we wouldn't look so exposed.

For me he's shown glimpses so far mate but still not enough.

Still, early days but yes I agree about needing someone to just sit in front of the back 4 and shield them.

Looking at the league right now there are quite a few top/exciting players at "non top 6" clubs that would be worth a look at IF Moshiri is throwing the dough around

Zaha (Front 3)
Ward Prowse (CM)
Eze (Front 3)
Philips (CM)
Rapinha (RB)
Meslier (GK)
