Kheidera hasn’t played for Germany in 2 years and hasn’t played for Juventus this season. He was diagnosed with a heart problem last year. I would imagine it would take him a good few months to get match fit.

Norwich played Zimmerman 17 times and Hanley 15 last season. Those are both CBs. So I'm not sure about that part of it. Nor the DM part as Tettey played a lot and so did that McLean lad and they both aren't attackers. I mean I get Norwich and Everton fans wanting to defend him but I'm still not sure.

Not that it even matters right now. I've watched Holgate play 100 times now and I'm still not sure how good he is. There have been stretches where he looks pretty great and others where I'm not so sure he has a future here. I expect Godfrey to be the same.

As far as Aarons goes I just think he'll be pretty meh. I don't think he will be bad, but I don't expect him to be great either. So 30m feels ridiculous to me. I just think other players are out there at lower prices that can be just as good or better. Emerson, Maehle and Mazraoui are names that spring to mind immediately.

30 mill seems a lot, but if we got ten years out of him then all of a sudden it's a bargain...
The lads got potential and has looked decent in an awful side

Another top class midfielder, box to box is a must next summer. Gomes, Davies and Delph aren’t good enough as back up. Like Tosun & Bernard aren’t good enough back up to the front players

Its just not realistic - its like expecting to sign a boss £40 million CB just because Mina isn't very reliable.

End of the day we have Allan, Doucoure, Gbamin, Delph, Gomes, Davies, Siggurdsson - you can argue rightfully most of them aint great but I cant see us spending £40 million on a CM when we have 1x RW, 1x CF (Toshun isn't included as he's crap and never gets played) and 1x LB & RB (again Carlo simply doesnt trust Kenny or Nkounkou to be included).

If money gets spent it wont be on CM in January when Allan & Gbamin will be fit from February fingers crossed and Carlo will likely want to have a look at Gbamin to see what he offers us.

I never said in January.
I said next summer. We will 100% bring In another quality midfielder, in my opinion we are 7 players away from really, seriously challenging. And of course they all don’t have to be 40mil players, maybe Branthwaite will step up in the next 12 months and we
Won’t need a CB.

I think we could bring in a CM the summer (with hopefully Delph & Gomes booted) however no chance we are spending money on one in January which is why I think we'll end up with Khedira on loan until the end of the season.

Simply put we need a temporary solution to Allan being out and also to give Carlo time to assess if Gbamin offers us anything long term or if sadly his body is shot from those injuries.
 

Having watched Lille a lot over the past 18 months, Çelik would be my preference and may well be available in their impending firesale (Mæhle and Emerson up there as well). But if we could get Aarons for 22-25m I think that'd represent a solid long-term investment for someone who's touted as a generational talent.
 
We need a forward and back up CM thats essential.

Holgate can cover RB and Godfrey can cover LB until Digne is fit.

We need someone to be able to cover DCL/Rich and someone to cover Allan and Doucoure as I have no faith in Gbamin coming back the same player after 2 long term injuries be a miracle if his body isn't shot.

Delph and Gomes cant be relied upon either.
