Everton January transfer window 2021

That's increasingly less true after a decade of malaise. If we're counting fans by way of social media, United is a distant third behind Real and Barca, and slightly ahead of Chelsea. Revenue was comfortably third going into 2020, and I would guess they need the gate less than, say, Barca.

The impending financial collapse of Barca is more likely to help keep United in the top 3 going forward than anything else.

OT: I would be a lot less interested in Isco and not really interested in Khedira at all, given that we seem to have stitched something resembling a midfield together and have to be skint at this point. It seems like the last thing we need to be doing is spending on older, slower players right now. As with Alli, if you can loan them for six months then sure, but I don't know how realistic that is.

Why do we have to be skint? No money issues with Everton as proven many times. I could see Khedira for 6-18 months to help us have more quality. We are still a good midfield short for that midfield 3. We have said all season that Allan and Docoure are more Box to box, maybe Khedira in there would allow them to do their role knowing we'd have an anchor behind them.

We need another forward DCL needs a rest at times
I agree, but only if a suitable player is available. I also think we may go for a right back.

it may also depend on outgoing players, with Tocsun, Bernard, Bolasie and Besic all possibly leaving. Some loans may also happen with Branthwaite, Gordon, Baningime or Simms?

I also wonder if we’ll sell Kean?

Moshiri's pocketbook isn't infinite. We can theoretically issue as much stock to him as we want, but his capacity and willingness to continue to convert debt to equity do have limits.

Agreed, but we do have players we can sell if the right offer comes in - Kean, Siggy, Bernard, Gomes, Tocsun.

We aren’t skint, just opening your eyes and seeing what’s going on at the club will tell us that.

Unfortunately some fans are blinkered by the negative echo journalists and people like the Esk.

Depends how much money he asks. As I said, if it's wages proportional to team status, should be a good signing. If not, we should look elsewhere.

Also, Pogba is out of contract next year. Would it be a realistic transfer target for Everton? It's not like United have better chances at silverware or Europe than Everton, that's for sure. At least not as long as that clown is managing them. On the other hand, pretty sure Everton can't match his wages.
Pogba. Now I know you're just talking baubles mate.

Will sound a bit mad but Isco and Sami K would be my targets, huge name players with massive wealth of experience and are WINNERS this is our best chance since Moyes to get top 4, an getting 2 winners to add to James and Allan will really shift the squad mentality, Bolasie can sign for a new club in Jan so use some of his wages for them. Try and get Southampton to buy Walcott off us.
Sounds a bit mad really

My main concern with Khedira is his age and his ability to get about the pitch. He had 2 bad injuries last season and has not featured this season. So is he essentially like Gbamin, in terms of fitness?
I would 100% have Isco though, I think he is good. We need someone at the DM position, I just dont know who. Its possible with Coleman coming back that Holgate could move into that role.

Think Bolasie will go to Middlesborough, on loan but they will only pay part of his wages, his contract with us expires in the summer so no one will pay cast for him in January. Walcott is on a season long loan and then his contract with us expires in the summer, so Southampton wont sign him in January, they will just wait until he becomes a free in the summer. I am also hoping that Tosun goes somewhere, maybe west brom, then we could bring an attacker in, someone with pace would be nice.

The thing with Khedira is that he wouldn't have to charge around all over the place. It's a bit overrated as an attribute. The best players read the game well and make good decisions. There is pace and movement around him, Iwobi has helped in that regard, an we have a manager who knows how to develop a system to get the best out of different players.

In terms of positioning, reading of the game etc he will be well ahead of all of our midfieders. Probably a bit like Gareth Barry when he arrived. He won't be signed unless he is fit, so I take that as a given.

The signing of James has opened my eyes a fair bit. Even at walking speed he's better than most of the league. The same will be true for Isco and Khedira. They were world class players.

I mean it's not infinite, but within the context of football in a deflationary recession his and the backers money is close to that.

Either way, Khedira and the like are actually quite good short term, cheap ways to bolster the team.

My only concern with that is you need a bit of both. Allan and Dacoure are excellent foils for James because of the ground they cover & the intensity they cover the ground.

It's a luxury to have James & a luxury we need, but not sure you have two or three of a similar ilk in the league
