Costa's all round game is far far better to Niasse though. Niasse is pretty good at goals, but little else.

A lot of people said he was too old when I said we should try and sign him when Walsh first arrived!

That's the thing no one knows which side it will fall on, usually when we sign older players they are crocked or past it but doesn't mean they all are and in fact it is due to how we play that makes them ineffectual more often than not. Hopefully Carlo would use these older players to their best abilities. If he wants them and I'm not saying he does want costa, then that should be good enough for us to get behind them.

Anyone seriously saying Costa is worth bringing in plays too much Fifa and really just wants to experience the novelty of him wearing an Everton kit. That would wear off after ten minutes of his first game.

He is so washed up it's actually tragic, in his pomp he was of the most fearsome centre-forwards the PL has ever seen. Now watching him is like watching Elvis around the time he sat on the toilet.

When was the last time we had a midfielder produce those kind of numbers? Cahill?

Also lingard was known for scoring in cup finals and turning up in the big games. Given that we haven’t won a derby at anfield since the Kevin Campbell days we could do with a big game player.
