Well you chose to ignore my first post on the subject and then cite the one clearly in jest. I am just saying that if you want to win things you need to jib off this romantic idea of footballing morals of you want to be at the top. Its a proper Moyesite way of thinking.

Please continue quoting latin though, if it makes you feel smarter than everyone else.

More often than not the flavour of the month signings from oversea's often dont hit the ground running which is what I would want if we are signing someone in January to help us seal a top 4 finish.

Youre comparing 2 big money signings in Pepe €80mil and Ndombele €60mil with the players i listed?

My post was alluding to the fact that we could sign both Emerson and Antony for a similar fee to Zaha. That should solve our RB and RF issues...two Brazilian u21 players (Emerson has a full cap) who look potentially top class.

Guimaraes and Zakaria are both solid centre/defensive midfielders to add bite and neither would cost the fees of the two you mentioned.

The only player who would cost a similar fee at the moment is Camavinga. A youngster widely regarded as being someone who could become world class, 18 years old and 3 french caps.

All pretty sensible suggestions compared to Zaha who seems to deliver results at centre forward these days and we have 4 on our books.

Just as an aside, Zakaria would cost £40m at least, surely

They're in the Champions League, will be pushing for it again. He's one of the best-rated young midfielders in Europe - can't see it myself mate

Do rate him, though he got torn to shreds by Lukaku in the Champions League a few weeks back

Cant see them being in the champions league for a while.

My 1st pick as DM is Guimaraes though, proper snide and i reckon we could get him for £20-25mil.

Also see how Paqueta is doing now at Lyon, i thought he would come good...not as good as i thought but still time on his side.

Nah mate, your medium to long term thinking isn’t of benefit now, when we have the best opportunity for a long time.

Plus Antony, another world beater? On half a season in a very average league? Could be? Or not?

One major signing now could push us up a further couple of places from our expected finish, thus champions league and Rico stays?

You still don't want to do something that isn't going to be a good move 12 months from now. It's a balance. We did a lot of win now stuff in the summer.
