It’d love to see us bring in a forward with genuine pace, capable of playing anywhere across the front 3. No idea who like.

Not sure we’ll do anything barring a couple of long overdue outgoings tbh.
Very few of these players exist. I'm trying to think in all of football who does this at a decent level and the names that I can come up with are Mbappe, Gnabry, Torres at City, possibly that Rebic lad at Milan, Richarlison, and maybe Promes at Ajax.

It is just a rare thing because few players who are true creative wingers have the goal scoring and physical ability to play in the middle and most of the guys who can do the things required of a center forward can't play the side on the wing where they can't cut in on their strong foot. So you've got players like Rashford who can play up top and the left and players like Sane who can play both wings but all three spots is just really rare.

Nah mate, your medium to long term thinking isn’t of benefit now, when we have the best opportunity for a long time.

Plus Antony, another world beater? On half a season in a very average league? Could be? Or not?

One major signing now could push us up a further couple of places from our expected finish, thus champions league and Rico stays?

You still don't want to do something that isn't going to be a good move 12 months from now. It's a balance. We did a lot of win now stuff in the summer.

Zaha £50mil+ and £150k a week...

Just because we 'may' reach the champions league this season...

He 'may' also suffer an injury, he 'may' not gel with the team...he 'may' get homesick...

This is alot of money on a player who wont be replacing Richarlison / DCL or James.

Id rather sign a Camavinga type who 'may' be world class and is only 18.

Or two young Brazilians who 'may' also become top class and become our right flank fixtures beyond Coleman / James.

Theres no way id be spending £50mil+ and £150k a week on Wilfried Zaha.

Hopefully Moshiri, Brands and Ancelotti agree with me.

Anyone who has looked at our accounts knows we won’t be lumping that sort of money on a 28/29 year old whose main attribute is pace - would just be repeating the same short termism that has got us into the ffp predicament we’re going to find ourselves in when covid finally ends.

Am hoping brands can pull some rabbits out of the hat - when he arrived i was looking forward to seeing us acquire some relative unknowns and turn them into world beaters but there’s been a sparse return in that area - generally when we’ve bought foreign players they’ve been physically not suited to the premier league. Hopefully he’s learnt from his mistakes.

Not sure if brexit work permit issues will knacker any of those plans mind.

No point buying kids that Carlo won't play.

Mate, we will agree to differ on this one

But a question, if we miss champions league, and lose Rico our best player, someone we should be building the team around, who would you replace him with so we don’t go backwards

Yeah. I suppose Iñaki Williams at Athletic Bilbao would be the only other one who'd fit that description.

Pricey skill set though.

Would love to see a midfield destroyer/general who can play a bit too.
Along with a pacey striker who can slot for fun.

We can all dream!

All 3 is a difficult ask as you say and the quality of players you mention is obviously way beyond what we are likely to get in January.

My preference would be a centre forward with pace who can play off a wing in order to give them minutes (we have the same conundrum with DCL that spurs have with Kane).

I think Kean was supposed to fit that profile but for whatever reason it hasn't worked.
