Everton January transfer window 2021

Still 4th, don't even wanna think how bad it would if we wasnt.

No, I'm not saying we don't need to add, but still.

Its just the usual fear we all have that things could go very badly wrong again very quickly. Today was a really good chance to kick on and we didn't take it. In fact we didn't look like we wanted to take it.

The last time we had a run like this in October, the wheels properly fell off. If that happens again we will fall quickly down the table so we need to win again very quickly.

1 good attacker this month will be very important because we had nothing in attack today. When the chance is there to kick on, Everton don't tend to kick on. We tend to make a hash of it or completely buckle under pressure. At some point we have to actually grasp an opportunity.

Nothing personal mate, but how can you watch us today and think the answer to our problems is to play a CB in the middle of the park?
No offence taken, I just felt at times we needed to be alot quicker and more direct, just throwing it out there, I'm no expert unfortunately as I'm not in the football business.. also shocking at football manager

The way I see it, we have a good opportunity to push for a European spot this season and maybe more despite a poor result but I think the money spent previous just railroads any big moves so we have to be more smart.

I don't think anyone here thinks we are going to spend £30/40/50m in January so forget Zaha, Aarons etc unless we sell someone for ok money these are never going to happen.

I can see Khedira coming in on a similar deal to James (no fee and a short term deal). He isn't my first choice but neither is Davies, Delph or Gbamin (yet). Allan is first choice but he is more effective being more flexible than a straight defensive midfielder so Khedira can be a more physical threat to our midfield plus he is a far better footballer than our current options.

We still need more attacking elements to break teams down, right winger and forward options still need to be addressed but I feel the only way is to find a between to these positions similar to what Richarlison can provide. Obviously we can't spend Richarlison money so we need to look into the Loan Market.

Maybe it’s my sentimentality kicking in but I’d be tempted to see if we could get Gueye back from PSG on loan or permanent.

I think his ability to break up play would allow Allan (when fit) and Doucoure to be more attacking and I think Gueye has the legs to help cover Hames’ side too.

I think that would only work with 2 brilliant attacking full backs and we only have one at the moment. As we seen tonight Doucoure is not great on the ball, and Gana isn’t either.,Allan IScslightly better than both, but not some world beating playmaker.

so there would be so much pressure on James & Richarlison to 9/10 every game. And if it becomes a counter attacking team. I don’t think that suits James. Tricky one for Ancelotti moving forward, because he seems to talk like he wants us to become counter attacking

We need the exact same thing we’ve needed for last 2/3 years, a centre midfielder who looks forward first, and can play a killer pass.
It’s fine having your Gueye, Allan,Doucoure, Davies types but you have to compliment them with someone who can actually create and score. The last midfielders we had who received a pass and looked forward were Barry and Barkley, everyone since looks sideways or back. We’ve probably got our best front three for a while and absolutely no one to supply them.
I can’t believe we’ve got to the point where we actually miss Iwobi.

Gueye would be 10 times the signing than an Isco or Khedira

Simplistic but can we try and get a better player than Seamus, Davies, Holgate. Siggy and have adequate or different type players than DCL, Bernard..............then we would have a serious team :)

The lack of pace and energy - call it youth - and obviously the failure to score goals are the big problems.

Khedira is just another static midfielder - imagine him with Gomes and Davies in midfield.

I would like a fast winger who can centre a ball - is that asking too much?

Unfortunately they were all better than James and richarlison today

This is going to get people going but we should take Danny Rose off Spurs. Playing without a true left back is ridiculous, Carlo won't play Nkounkou and Spurs would give him away at this point. Get him in on loan, pay his wages for 6 months and any time Digne isn't available at least we have a real PL LB to play in the position. Personally think it is a more sensible idea than Khedira.
