Everton January transfer window 2021

My view would be;

1) Both are too expensive
2) Both would want European, probably CL football
3) Ancelotti prioritised immediate improvements.

2 of the above 3 could be changed by the summer.

Big money i suspect.

If we could get top 4 i think incoming player profiles will be very interesting indeed.

Hopefully brands is still onboard and we keep a focus on building a generational team.

What price do you think we'd sell at? My guess is £120mil...down from £150mil :(
I think we've seen the last of £100m plus transfers for a while Zat. I really believe that, going forward, covid is going to have a much bigger effect on football than people realise. There will be a big re-adjustment in player valuations simply because clubs haven't got the money.

Ironically, Everton are one of the few clubs in the top 20 that don't rely much on match day income, so in theory we should be less affected than most.

Yes strangely, and probably unfairly, our weakness becomes a strength, which often happens in a recession.

Brands mentioned Ihatteran would go for the type money he doesnt see as value.
The lad at Ajax will be the same if not more , he's not spending that sort of money on two 18 year olds.
Think more Branthwaite & Nkounku are the types he'll be targeting.
Zirkzee falls right into his type if indeed we are really pushing for the lad.

Cant see much changing myself...

These days the game is all about image and ego for many owners...so the cycle continues.

How much would we get from 4th and champions league?

It’s obvious Ings is going to Spurs and he’d be a good fit.

Id be getting James Beattie flashbacks if he joined us, so hope it doesn’t happen for that very reason.

He wouldn't play. Or if he did DCL wouldn't! He'll play even less at Spurs. I rate him but if he signs for anyone I think Leicester are his best bet with Vardy now getting on a bit. Just my view like. Saying that Ings is spring chicken is he?

One thing that confuses me is that Brands specialty were the players from South America, the unknown players that became big. Brexit has made getting those players in easier. A lot of the pushback on the January window is "teams aren't going to give up their best players in the middle of the season" but it's their break right now, they're done for hte year.
