Despite them telling us this, I cannot believe they forecast so many leaving and us being so bang average on the pitch and doing nothing about it. They must have something up their sleeves...mustn't they?!
Good, I don’t think he is too past it etc to contribute here but I think he would have been considered an answer to a lot of our issues and I don’t think he would have been. I think with a stronger squad adding someone like him would have been good in the way Cavani to Utd has been, but we’ve got bigger issues than blowing a no doubt significant sum on a short term contract on him would address.

Look we're 4 points off a CL place with a game in hand, Ancelotti says we are where he thinks we should be, it's a massive improvement in results on last season (we finished 12th remember). Maybe they're happy to play out the next few months with this squad, improve in the Summer, go at it next year.

Kean, Walcott, Tosun, Bernard(sold), Simms, all forward options we have loaned out or let go the idea we don't need to add is mad. Just on numbers terms we actually now need two players to cover forward positions. They must have something up their sleeve otherwise why would you allow all of those out? Apart from bringing down the wage bill? But you need a squad. Dom and Richy cannot play every game as we have seen then you need options on the bench to change the game.
If they are happy with 7th then maybe thats the problem. There is an opportunity this year to do something, a long term plan is irrelevant when you can achieve your goal quicker than intended.
If you need to be somewhere by 9 o clock and are going to get there at half 8, you don't turn around and drive away for a bit to waste time.

Think that’s bit harsh, they haven’t splonked £400m or whatever and put this many players on six figure per week contracts out of a desire to finish 9th.
The way they have gone about it is highly questionable, but I don’t think we can say the desire / ambition isn’t there....
I suspect FFP and being a worthy destination for those players is the only thing really stopping us from further signings like James
