Look we're 4 points off a CL place with a game in hand, Ancelotti says we are where he thinks we should be, it's a massive improvement in results on last season (we finished 12th remember). Maybe they're happy to play out the next few months with this squad, improve in the Summer, go at it next year.

So if Tosun and Bernard go we're going to go into the second half of the season with DCL as the 'only' real striker with Richarlison as backup who himself couldn't score a goal to save his life right now. But he's our starting left winger and the back up for him is a Gordon who hasn't been able to get off the bench ahead of Bernard who's about to be sold.

What could possibly go wrong.

It's a tricky situation. We have wasted fortunes on dross and are still living with that. If we don't get players in we probably won't make Europe and that makes attracting players in the summer more difficult. However we won't buy players unless they will either improve the first team or young players like Godfrey or Nkounkou.

We can get Europe with this squad which I'm sure is the club's goal for this season.

It's his job to identify players that match our budget, I'd say.

So if he's been given the mandate to, for example, reduce the wage budget by 15% this season and he's decided the best way to do that is by loaning out LOADS of players but by doing so it ends up leaving us very short in certain areas, I'd expect him to find a solution to plug the one very glaring gap in the squad.

There might not be a budget though.

And he's loaning players, because nobody is interested in buying those players. If we wanted to sell Richarlinson, or DCL at a knockdown price, somebody might come in, but I doubt people would want that either.

Of course it does. We are paying 100k p/w or whatever to Tosun to do nothing. It's an awful situation.
