Everton January transfer window 2021

Sorry mate, i dont agree. There is value in Tosun, i dont expect 27 million but 5-8 is realistic even a nominal loan fee. Its 12 months ago since he went to Palace on loan and we had agreed a fee of 17 mill if they wanted to keep him. There was also reported interest in him with these Turkish links from other countries. Im not expecting 10s of millions - but i expect a bit more then giving players away and the possibility of them boomaranging back in June, like Bolaise, Besic, Mirallas, Niasse, Martina etc. Its a proven flawed strategy. Then we are also short up front. We are really poor at getting something and anything for our players.

For them this is akin to us selling Lukaku for 90 mill and then getting him back on loan. Thats the leverage we should have used, every window their president was out in the media speaking about signing him, the player himself wants to go there, Fener just signed Ozil and clearly Besiktas need a signing to cultivate good will in their fanbase and match Fener to show they are ambitious to for their fans. Step forward Everton who will give you a club legend back for basically free.

Sorry i just dont see what the value of this is for Everton at all.

If we go to any other club and say give us your player for free - its a buyers market - what do you think we will be told.

Didn't we pretty much do that for James?

I wonder if it is US who have structured the deal like this? No loan fee or buy clause will make it very easy to recall him if something happens to Calvert-Lewin. He’d be happy to come back as starter and that’s the gamble for Besiktas. In this context it makes sense‍♂️ (Though I accept DCL will lack competition but not convinced Tosun offers much anyway)

I'm not sure he can be recalled if he goes mate.

Didn't we pretty much do that for James?

Not really, we own him, Real Madrid aren't responsible for his contract, we are. Nor does that deal obligate us to give our players away.

We are far to nice and accommodating in our transfer business, we are massively poor on outs.

Hey PSG want a young center forward to bang in goals to help you win the league and CL for a year - no problem - heres Moise Kean.

Hey Southampton fancy rivaling us for a European spot this season - no problem heres Theo Walcott.

Hey Besikas fancy your previous top scorer back for nothing, just send him back when your done.

Meanwhile on Everton forums - fans screaming for attacking options.

We are far to nice in our outs dealings, we are far to nice to the players themselves, put their agents to work and let them realise some value to Everton.

Wolves lost Jimenez and had to use an untested 18-year old from the Porto. Granted they've now gone out and loaned someone else in but prior to that they didn't have any depth up front.

And they've paid the price for it. Having an absolute crap season, have barely scored. Tried to rectify the issue now by getting Jose but probably too late.

I said we can get Europe with this squad not that we will so not sure what you'd be vaulting.
I genuinely think Europe has gone now. Those 2 games just past where ideal chance to position ourselves nicely in the mix. Am more worried about the teams underneath us now. This season because the likes of Villa,West ham and Southampton going well and with the likes of Arsenal, Wolves and Chelsea stuttering its made the race for Europe harder. I fully expect Chelsea and Arsenal to pick up which will throw them back in the mix for Europe. If we're not careful because of the way the league is going this season you could find yourself on the back of a decent season and still be finishing 10th.
