Everton January transfer window 2021

Not really, we own him, Real Madrid aren't responsible for his contract, we are. Nor does that deal obligate us to give our players away.

That was our choice though. Had we said 12 month loan, an detailed we would pay what we are paying him, I strongly suspect RM would have obliged.

If you're view is taht Tosun has more value to us, than them paying 40-80k (depending on reports) per week, we should keep him. The question must surely be, can we get a loan in, for betwen 40-80k per week (minus a fee) that will deliver us more than Tosun?

I genuinely think Europe has gone now. Those 2 games just past where ideal chance to position ourselves nicely in the mix. Am more worried about the teams underneath us now. This season because the likes of Villa,West ham and Southampton going well and with the likes of Arsenal, Wolves and Chelsea stuttering its made the race for Europe harder. I fully expect Chelsea and Arsenal to pick up which will throw them back in the mix for Europe. If we're not careful because of the way the league is going this season you could find yourself on the back of a decent season and still be finishing 10th.

We can probably finish anywhere from 3rd-10th. The hard bit will be all of those positions will show progress and the difference between 10th-3rd is not going to be that great. We are slap bang in the middle of it now. Yesterday was really disappointing, but objectively we are in quite a good position to finish 5/6th this season, which would mark exceptional progress.

Updating this thread in the hope of a few new players of pace heavily linked with us ,every refresh that results in no links just condemns this season ,urgent isn’t the word

Really pains me to say but after our inability to put the dross away at home I think we're looking at 10th to 7th. Really hope am wrong but a certain amount of realism is needed now after this week.

Real would have got the best deal for themselves, obviously the player had leverage given his wage and contract situation. Jamo was a risky signing, maybe he still is, hes a wonderful player but none of us would be surprised if he picked up an injury and was out for a month. So we are taking on a level of risk in that deal to.

Yes i defintiley do think there is value in Tosun - more then we are getting with this deal, which is why im think its a bad deal, we should be definitely looking for a return on him more then 50/100% of his wages over a four month loan. We could be back here in June. All the risks are ours, we have seen players boomarang back here and their value diminish following these loan deals.

We are far to nice and accommodating in our transfer business, we are massively poor on outs.

Hey PSG want a young center forward to bang in goals to help you win the league and CL for a year - no problem - heres Moise Kean.

Hey Southampton fancy rivaling us for a European spot this season - no problem heres Theo Walcott.

Hey Besikas fancy your previous top scorer back for nothing, just send him back when your done.

Thats a bad, bad trend and a well worn one - after Bolaise, Martina, Mirralas, Besic, Niasse all doing a boomarang, reducing in value and bleeding the club.

The guts of 70 mill in Everton investment, going out and impacting elsewhere. While i dont expect a full return i expect far more or something for that.

Meanwhile on Everton forums - fans screaming for attacking options.

We are far to nice in our outs dealings, we are far to nice to the players themselves, put their agents to work and let them realise some value to Everton.

We have failed to put dross away at home already, and we joint 6th, we a game in hand to go 5th. I mean maybe our performance level falls away. I suspect some of those sides around in Europe will fall away. If we take another 33 from 19, we will likely finish 4-5th. And thats merely repeating tese 19 games.

There have been loads of odd results. Hard though it is I would try not to kneejerk too much off yesterdays game.

I keep saying though, if you kill the value of a player, you end up selling in a pawn shop.

Nobody was cuing up to buy any of those players. Juventus had a loan with an offer to buy Kean, for just under what we paid for him. We are likely to get a fair bit more than we paid for him now. PSG already sniffing around a bid of 31m, which we should be able to increase.

Tosun and Walcott were just really bad signings. We paid top dollar, for a caste off and someone from very much a b-rated league.

We could be less nice, but all that will happen is people will not buy them.

I have tried to take into account that teams are all taking points of each other, but I think with us it feels like we're never in control of our own destiny.

Ha liking it to us trying to climb a greasy poll.

it's not a question of being too nice in my view. We bought a bunch of golden turkeys, they were always going to be murder to shift after it became apparent that we'd overpaid and were now on fat conracts.

Sorry mate i dont agree with the write of approach, i think you can do it with one or two, but its primarily our approach now regulating the squad, with little to zero value to Everton.

I was looking at the Lingard deal to West Ham, other clubs can look after themselves with this type of deal for players they dont want, we are awful on outs and worryingly the boomerang loans of zero value, depreciating value has become the concrete approach of how we deal with our outs of absolutely zero value to us from a business or playing point of view.
