Everton January transfer window 2021

....it is daft how these things go down to the wire, can only think he was only an option if Tosun left. Good housekeeping.

It could have been we have gambled knowing Bournemouth would cave in. I’m sure the players agent would have been in contact with Everton who put the feelers out some time ago for King (reportedly). It’s decent business from a financial POV.

It’s crazy on here, people saying who they will have and who they won’t, as we all should know by now, the club signs who they want and we are there to support them. So welcome King, farewell those who have gone and COYB.

the only exception was Allardyce, he was beyond supporting and I hope he gets relegated.
that's what fans do mate, we make stuff up on the internet because what we really want actually doesn't bother the club mate, it's a forum, this is the kind of thing that goes on on forums. People can like and dislike players, are you ok with that?

Oh and your last line completely invalidates your post ffs.

Sorry my attempt at irony seems to have been missed (the last line) as this was the line in the sand for me and I stopped going for a while whilst he was there.

I'm perfectly aware its a forum and people are entitled to make their own call, just the vehemence of some posts as to how they think a certain player is gash, yet the club sign them. Its a bit like Gylfi - we all know he has not lived up to his expectation - but Carlo keeps picking him, game after game, so he must see something in him that we cannot.

My point is that ultimately, whether or not we like it, the club will sign who they see fit, our "job" is then to support them. But I completely recognise that people may not like a certain player (or manager in my case) and then choose not to go and be a boo-boy at the match. There has never been a player signing that has made me fall out with my beloved Everton.

I understand why we have got him but I find it highly uninspiring. Just fed up with mediocre players, JK isn't going to help us step up a level and I don't like filler transfers. Just not great is it, Josh King on deadline day after a month of window being open, it's shocking from Brands in my opinion.

January is a really hard window though. Players like King are what is available.

We had FFP limitations, hence the loan. I wasn’t delighted with King, but on balance, I think hes the best we could get. He is fast, good in the air, plays across the front positions, on a short term loan and has PL experience.

I don’t think there is anyone we could else who would fit that profile. He will at least make an impact on the first team, unlike some of our other benchwarmers,

You hope he can make an impact, we shall see, not convinced myself. It's hard to expect anything from lads getting 10-20 minutes here and there and he has shown he isn't great off the bench by scoring zero this season, yes I said zero, nothing, zilch in a lower division.

You really believe he is the best we can get?

He will be a lot more than a bit part player.

Of the players who have moved this window (because they were the ones available) who would you have got instead of him, bearing in mind it could only be a loan because of FFP?

Zirkzee was a real punt, no PL experience, and cost actual money so a non starter.
