We do have Davies, whatever we think about him, Carlos does seem to rate him. Tbh I don’t think he’s as bad as people make out, there’s always one that has to be the one people slate and it usually the local one. Barkley,Hibbert, osman all use to get it. But perso ally I’d like to see Holgate as holding midfielder if Allan is out.

I think Davies is better on the ball than a lot give him credit for. I don't think he can convince defensively though, he really can't tackle.

Richarlison probably wants to stop playing absolutely gash if he wants Europe. I agree with your other points though by and large.

Richarlison has been below his best, but he's far from gash. He is still doing some things well but his very best, which is missing, makes an enormous difference
to the team. He'll be back.

The clock has struck midnight and things are gone rather quiet on the transfer front.

Still we await news on Josh King’s move to Everton, Takumi Minamino’s switch to Southampton, as well as Shane Long’s proposed transfer from the Saints to Bournemouth.

A nervy wait/sleep is in store for fans of those clubs as we await confirmation as to whether the deal sheets were submitted to the Premier League in time, and whether the signings have been finalised for the 1am deadline.

Pleased with that and despite not being totally convinced on King, it is something different and the structure of the deal seems sensible.

While I’m not a big fan of King I tho k it’s a good deal as it’s only 6 months
The club seemingly has learned its lesson and the days of buying old expensive but part players are behind us
I seriously doubt King will be offered a deal after the 6 months as other plans are probably already on place for the summer

Yes he ain’t the best tackler, Holding isn’t really his best position but he can do it better than the likes of Gomes,Sigs and Doucoure. So he is imo an important squad player un till we get a better option.
