Everton player you disliked the most

I don't question his ability at all.... Just can't stand the man.

Why not? The most common complaints I hear about Cottee are:

- he loves West Ham (can't change your team once chosen)
- he was selfish and only cared about scoring (I'd say his goals-ratio justified this...goals ultimately help the team)
- he's a cockney (ok)
- i just don't like him (ok mate x)

I think that's harsh personally. Yes he's a United fan & he never hid it, never bothered me personally, as he was a quality captain for us for most of his tenure. On the pitch he went downhill towards the end, but to say he didn't give a toss is plain wrong imo.

Hasn't mentioned us once since he left, said a top ten finish was good enough "for a club like Everton", everything he did was neutral about the club, toed the line to earn the paycheck.

Didn't give a toss mate, clear as day. I don't mind it as such - hell, it's a job for any player at the end of the day, I don't expect devotion to a brand from anyone - but given he was meant to be club captain is what makes it annoying. He never bigged us up, ever.

People only started hating Neville 18 months ago. People now pretend they always hated him because it is fashionable

I hate guff like this.

"You're only saying that to appear fashionable"

Who actually does that apart from teenagers? And who accuses fellow grown men of that other than...teenagers?

Jack rodwell. Never rated him an when got distin sent off in Europa was the icing on the cake. Manc fodder, well rid an 24mil gained!

Paul Rideout. Controversial I know and he scored some important goals, but I got sick of his constant moaning on the pitch and the fact he could never ever score a one-on-one

You can't hate a player for being crap, surely. It's not like they're potentially world class, but playing crap on purpose because they play for Everton. I never hated Cahill in his last 18 months at the club, but I hated the fact that Moyes kept playing him week in week out

You didn't used to sit near the front behind the goal in the Street end did you mate?

haha, I remember sitting behind a lad who used to give Rideout pelters. One week he's giving him dogs abuse & some of the older fellas start telling him to pipe down. The lad carries on regardless. Sure enough, Rideout rises like a salmon & nods one into the Street end net. As the celebrations start to die down, all eyes turn to the lad, who sees everyones staring at him & shouts "nice goal Rideout, but you're still ****e"

Not getting me to bite fella. I'm sure this is the part where you hope I get wound up so you can scuttle off to the mods but bad luck.

Re: Don Hutchison

Everything was always someone else's fault. Sour-faced get. Left us because we weren't good enough for him. He went to West Ham. Ex-kopite.

When Barmby, Collins & Hutchison left (because we weren't good enough), the entire midfield had to be replaced. As a result we finished way higher up the table.

Clearly the reason why we weren't 'good enough' was our lousy midfield of Barmby, Collins & Hutchison.

What part are you disagree about it - that he's an arse kisser or a limited footballer or that he didn't give a toss about the club?

Can't really think of a counter-argument for any of those points myself.

Limited footballer? He got old FFS, it happens. When he first came in, he was perfectly fine

So he did what his boss told him? How does that make him an arse kisser?

And he cared enough about the club to play to his full ability when he put on he shirt. That's all that matters

Jesus Christ on a Crepe while eating humous. Get a bloody grip man!
