Everton players on loan 2018/19

Sometimes the players around make a difference if he is playing clever passes and nobody is on his wavelength they will go to waste. That's why I would like to see him at this level. Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy are classic examples of how loans don't always work for every player and I am not saying he is that level just making an observation.
Point taken mate. But Dowell was certainly influencing games more last season albeit in a better side then Bolton. Although the championship might be right for Williams at this time, maybe Bolton wasn’t the right club for him.

Types of players. Number 10s can often not do much and get written off easily. I think the only reason Sigurdsson has had so many chances is his transfer fee. It was easy to jettison Dowell from the squad after a poor game. I hope Dowell goes out on loan and learns to influence games more. Williams is all action and if he finds himself with a chance he needs to take it. Connolly should have been able to make a position his own for Wigan but has been in and out the team and all over position wise.

Bolasie has started Villas last 4 games and has whoscored ratings of:

Forest 8
Boro 7.38
WBA 6.88
Stoke 7.18

If he manages to keep this up we could be looking at a semi decent fee for him.

Just getting him and his wages off the books would make me happy. Not the worst player but never worth £28 million then what little he did have destroyed by injury. Sandro is the other one I would happily allow to leave if someone was willing to take his contract on.

Championship
Ipswich Town - Matthew Pennington played full match in 1-1 home draw with Sheffield United

OS Match Report
"The Blades continued to carry the main threat, Sharp had the ball in the net from a free-kick but was judged to have been offside, Pennington beating the Sheffield skipper to a ball over the top"

Twitter stuff
11' Great defending from @mpennington94 as McGoldrick drove at him with the young defender standing up well to win the ball for a goal-kick. [0-0]

Fan comments
"I'll give Pennington some leeway for his frequent errors but odd that Spence or Knudsen are seen as the weak links given the mistakes all our defenders make."
"If Pennington didn,t play in his carpet slippers, he wouldn,t make those mistakes. Slipped at crucial times on at least 4 occasions 2nd half."
"Pennington was our best player in first half and kept us in it with a number of interceptions. 2nd half Penningtons studs seem to fail 3 or 4 times which could have been costly."
"Thought Pennington did well considering he was wearing tap shoes."
"I don't especially rate Pennington to be honest."
"Anyone in their right mind would recognise Pennington was our best player today, or at least the player who got us out of trouble the most."
"I see Pennington as a young Berra, a lump that gets in the way and has a big presence, not pretty on the ball, but at this level we've seen the likes of sol bamba marshal a defence in a promotion winning team. He's just fine imo"
"Pennington was MoM for me with Chalobah not far behind."

Callum Connolly was an unused sub for Wigan.

Antonee Robinson (injury) and Joe Williams were not in matchday squads.

....mad to think Pennington is the last Everton player to score a league goal for us at Anfield from open play.

Championship
Bolton Wanderers - Joe Williams played full match in 2-1 home win over Rotherham United

OS Match Report
"Wanderers went agonizingly close yet again soon after, with a Andrew Taylor cross coming out to Joe Williams, who fakes past his man and unleashed a powerful drive on the Millers goal. The Everton loanee had Rodak beaten, but a Semi Ajayi clearance off the line saw the game remain 1-1."

Twitter stuff
.@ClaytonThedon tees up @Gazoneil for a cross to the far post; Sammy Ameobi knocked it down and Semi Ajayi got to the ball just before @JoeWilliams0812 could pounce! (6)
Andrew Taylor knocks the ball into the path of @JoeWilliams0812 inside the box and his unorthodox attempt forces Marek Rodak into a simple stop. (7)
Chance for @JoeWilliams0812 to try his luck with a shot from 20 yards out, but he sliced a tame attempt wide of the mark. (27)
Chance Wanderers! Andrew Taylor's cross comes out to @JoeWilliams0812 who sees a shot cleared inside the goalmouth by Semi Ajayi, before @Chris_Doidge turns the ball over the bar. (54)

Fan comments
"Lowe at right back, then left back after Taylor went off after 65mins, played really well, as did Williams who was brave enough to get on the ball and keep possession even if his final pass or shot didn't always find the target."
"Good spells from Williams as well."
"Williams had a ten minute spell when he forgot that he's trying to show us he can be a prem midfielder...in that spell he looked really good. Chasing, tackling, running"

Ipswich Town - Matthew Pennington played full match in 0-3 away defeat to QPR

OS Match Report

Twitter stuff
20' Pennington comes close for Town as he met Ward's corner at the near-post and narrowly misses the target. [0-0]
37' Pennington meets another Ward corner, but his header is over the bar. [2-0]

Fan comments
"Those that rate Pennington, why? Lost his man on the free kick and didn't bother trying to stop the cut back for the third. To be fair all the goals were horrific but he is regularly directly to blame for goals conceded and yet some fans rate him?"
"Honestly without him we’d concede more. That’s the depressing thing, he’s the benchmark for a good defender right now."

Wigan Athletic - Callum Connolly played full match and was booked in 0-2 away defeat at West Bromwich Albion

OS Match Report
"Full back Reece James tested Sam Johnstone shortly after when he forced the former Manchester United goalkeeper into a dangerous parry, but Johnstone was saved his blushes by a recovering defender as Connolly attempted to reach the loose ball in the box."

Twitter stuff
17' Yellow. Callum Connolly into the book, aerial challenge with Gareth Barry who came clattering down. (1-0)
58' Chance! @reecejames69's delivery met by @Callum1connolly, but his glancing header is held by Johnstone. (1-0)

Fan comments
"Connolly is just on a hiding to nothing - he was a right back, now he's being played as a centre mid, he's not got the ability to play there, he doesn't adjust well enough."
"Connolly was booked for a nothing challenge then spends the rest of the game afraid to put his foot in for fear of being sent off. He should have been subbed at half-time."

Antonee Robinson was not in matchday squad (injury).

Any stats on Connolly, Robinson and Joe Williams? Excellent work by the way hopefully some of them will be made permanent.

He's probably never gonna be of the required level but in terms of passion and effort he'd be of use. Not many in our team get angry or motivated in the middle of the park. Him, Ledson, sort of Davies.

I think he's a more rounded midfielder than either Davies or Baningime good enough for 4th choice in my opinion. If we get Europa League next season 4 of our 25 man squad need to be club trained. Only Williams, Kenny, Robinson, Connolly, Dowell, Browning and Pennington meet this criteria in the current squad. I imagine Browning and Pennington will be gone so would be worth keeping just so we have some depth in Europe. Davies and Baningime meet the criteria but will still be young enough not to need to be in the 25 man squad next year.
