Some footage here of Joe Williams on loan at Bolton, as we know the lad loves a tackle but shows a few nice turns and passes as well.

Give it up mate, will never be good enough for us or the prem. he’s 22 now not 17.

I think he's a more rounded midfielder than either Davies or Baningime good enough for 4th choice in my opinion. If we get Europa League next season 4 of our 25 man squad need to be club trained. Only Williams, Kenny, Robinson, Connolly, Dowell, Browning and Pennington meet this criteria in the current squad. I imagine Browning and Pennington will be gone so would be worth keeping just so we have some depth in Europe. Davies and Baningime meet the criteria but will still be young enough not to need to be in the 25 man squad next year.

2 months too late if we had bought him at the start of the July not end of August he would have got the required 36 months in. I could be wrong but thats my interpretation of the rules. Galloway falls foul for the same reason.

At the moment the player I wish we kept hold of is Vlasic. I hope he returns next season but I suspect his future lies elsewhere, to our detriment.
Williams deserves a shot at our first team next season he is superior to Davies and Baningame in my opinion.
Onyekuru remains an enigma to me ,seems to be doing well but I am resigned to the fact we will probably never see him in an Everton shirt.

Tbf I thought he looked very decent in that vid. Obs it's only a YT highlight clip, but not expecting him to be the finished article at 22.

In terms of wage budget we’ve got four or five players onloan who are not youngsters and not included in this thread who will go atthe end of the season - Bollassie, Williams, Martina, Besic, Mirallas and save us money. Oh and Sandro too, who could forget him , err me. Having said that , you’d have to think we’d let some of the onloan youngsters go too if we get reasonable offers .

...Williams contract is up, but I wouldn’t count on Bolasie, Sandro, Martina and Mirallas going. None are pulling up trees on loan and are on mega contracts. They will take some shifting.

Ah ok, must admit I haven’t taken much notice of their contracts or these players in general, I can’t even spell some of their names

Did you know if there was a reason why Connolly has been sitting on the bench over the last couple of games?

He had been coming on as a sub but then has filled in in midfield and as a defender. It might be that he has been rested but I think his role in a poor Wigan side is seen as a squad utility player.
