Any word on how he got on? Would be great to have him come through...need more attackers from the youth sides to add to the defenders coming up.

Currently getting beat 2-1 on 78 minutes but he's still playing.

Doncaster winning 2-0 with Grant on the pitch still. Felipe taken off after 73 minutes, he probably remembered he was a footballer and his legs dropped off.

Didn't see any of it, was following via BBC live text. Seems like he had a couple of shots, one of which hit the bar, the other was saved.

Griffiths is away with England U20s, but I would bet on him walking back into that Halifax side given they conceded 6 goals today. Grant got a lot of praise from the Doncaster twitter account in their 2-0 win. Fleetwood lost 2-1, Henen had a few shots but not too much to report. Chester drew 0-0, Dyson started and came off towards the end.

League One
Wigan: Junior unused sub in 0-2 away win over Rochdale

Fleetwood Town: Henen started in 2-1 away defeat to Peterboro

OS Match Report
"Henen looked lively up-top for the Cod Army, and very nearly nipped the ball past keeper Ben Alnwick but the home captain recovered well."
"Henen almost equalised for Town when he beat his man in the area and cut back inside before seeing his shot cannon back off the bar."

Doncaster Rovers: Grant played whole match in 0-2 away win over Blackpool
Doncaster Rovers: Mattioni in starting line-up in same match, subbed on 73rd minute

OS Match Report
"On five minutes Darren Ferguson’s side took the lead with a superb goal from the in form Andy Williams. Everton loanee Conor Grant played a deep ball to the back post and as Clark Robertson attempted to clear, the ball fell to Williams. With the angle against him, Williams beautifully curled the ball into the top corner leaving Lyness with absolutely no chance."
"It could have been 2-0 to Rovers when Grant drove past the defence before looking to place one into the bottom corner. With Lyness caught flat footed his shot went just past the post."
"Just before half time Rovers doubled their lead. A Conor Grant corner caused a goalmouth scramble and with Blackpool unable to clear, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair was there to poke the ball home from 3 yards."
"The visitors started the second half as they did the first. Grant came close again to getting on the scoresheet as he carried the ball 30 yards before hitting one low to the keepers right but Lyness made a good save to deny him."

National League
Chester: Calum Dyson - started in 0-0 away draw against Boreham Wood, subbed in 61st minute

OS Match Report

"The game was almost as lacklustre as the weather in the opening half an hour – Calum Dyson’s close range shot was blocked after Roberts pickpocketed the defender and drove into the box."

Went to the Peterborough Fleetwood game, first half I didn't hear the team news or buy a programme so didn't know he was on at the start, but second half, every good thing that Fleetwood did, including their goal, went through Henen. The effort he had that hit the bar was prem quality, however, and I think it's just his age or his first game, decision making and strength (or anticipating the strength of defenders) was hit and miss. That should get better with time though. Also though tbf to him he made many clever runs into space but rarely got the ball.

I've had a few drinks this analysis is all over the place. It was my anniversary 2 days ago and my birthday in 2 days so I'm enjoying it

Congrats on the anniversary/birthday and thanks for the Henen report!

The Chester Chronicle has done an interview with Griffiths, sounds like he's set himself the target of getting into a League 2 team by the end of the season.

Everton goalkeeper Russell Griffiths relishing FC Halifax Town challenge

Chester-born custodian is on loan at the National League strugglers

Everton keeper Russell Griffiths is on loan at FC Halifax Town

Chester-born Russell Griffiths snapped up the chance of a loan move to FC Halifax Town despite them being bottom of the National League.

The Shaymen have had a disastrous season to date and lost 6-3 at home to Braintree Town at the weekend.

Everton goalkeeper Griffiths missed that game as he was on international duty with England under-20s in France.

He was an unused substitute for the first of two games with the French with the second being cancelled following Friday night's terrorist attacks in Paris and the FA arranging for the squad to be flown home.

Griffiths joined Halifax, who play in the same league as Chester FC, on a one month loan deal and said he snapped up the opportunity when offered to him.

The 19-year-old made his debut in the FA Cup defeat to Wycombe Wanderers on November 8 and will hope to earn a recall for Saturday's trup to Gateshead.

Ex-Christleton High School pupil Griffiths believes loan moves will significantly help his career as he continues to progress.

He said: "I bit there hand off being able to play at a standard such as the National League can only benefit me. Being here will fill me with lots of experience which is vital as I am a young goalkeeper.

"I am looking forward to the matches and hopefully helping Halifax climb up the table.

"I’m looking to improve each day, the opportunity at Halifax allows me to play men’s football.

"In this league I’ll learn how to protect myself better as a goalkeeper, playing for three points every game and in a real league is the best opportunity I have to improve my game to a higher standard.

"I’ve set myself personal targets to play as consistently as I can each week and perform well and if so that will contribute to Halifax and be good for the team.

"Playing in this division will make me stronger mentally, physically and give myself the ability to be pushed. I need this challenge as it will test me and it’s a challenge I am relishing.

"Playing in the National League before Christmas is ahead of my target set by Everton at the start of the season and I’m going to take things one step at a time but hopefully by the end of the season I can work my way into the Football League and achieve my personal target."

Griffiths spent time on loan with Northwich Victoria and Colwyn Bay earlier this season.

Bit worrying that Ledson has been loaned to League Two. He's supposed to have Barkley-like potential, I'd have thought he'd need to be playing in the Championship really
