Hard to know i suppose with loans.do you send them to a club near the top where they might be in a better position to express themself and not be under as much pressure or do you go lower in the table where the pressures on but you might be the difference in spurring them on to better things.

The Daily Mail article claims he's expected to play regularly which might have been a key factor. We seem to have some sort of tie to the clubs we've sent players to on loan previously but not sure Cambridge is one.

Lack of under 21 fixtures in December, he hasent played to much since August.
Think its a good move for him, higher standard would be better but if no one is willing to take him you get him a loan were he will play 8 or so games.

A decent performance and he may come back and we get him out to a higher club in January.

I think this may of been the reason he hasent played to much the begginging of the season. Think the lad needed a rest and taking out the spotlight a little bit.

Cambridge seems abit of a distance, are we trying to get him away from bad influences?

Any sort of competative football is good, the club seems to have a plan for youngsters having short term loans starting at a lower level and eventually working their way up to the Championship. Seems a good strategy rather than chucking someone in the deep end and finding they sink. Also I think it's the style a side plays thats important. When Ross went to Leeds it didn't suit him because Warnock is just a clogger.

I wonder how they determine who goes to which club?fleetwood, cambridge, fulham, wigan and charlton just off the top of are clubs we have sent players on loan to.would these clubs be knowing for playing attractive football because like you have said fairly pointless being sent to a club of cloggers if were looking to develop our players differently.or is the point just to be getting them playing any ball at all at a higher level, getting them out of their comfort zones.

Fulham as i predicted before the season would be hopeless under Symons and the move wasn't the right choice for Garbutt, injury aside ive not been proven wrong on this and now they are going after another wet mop of a manager in Clarke.

I just don't think Fulham is the correct choice, don't rate there manager backed up by the negative record he has since taking over. His youth development is hardly impressive for someone who was a youth team coach, dembele and roberts 2 of their most promising youngsters barely played all season so not sure if he is right for nurturing young talent.

Would have preferred to have seen him in a team who may not be the most stylish but have a proven track record in the championship, Ipswich would have been ideal as McCarthy's style of football would really work on the defensive aspects he currently lacks, worth noting both Mings and Cresswell have come through Ipswich in recent years so they are doing something correctly with their LBs.

Dembele has managed to push on finally this season and i was hit and miss with the ipswich shout but they still higher than Fulham xD
