Lack of under 21 fixtures in December, he hasent played to much since August.

I think this is reason enough.

I've been very impressed by Ledson in the U21 games I've seen and based on what I saw I previously suggested that he's ready for a first team start, possibly in the cups. I hope he takes this opportunity to stake his claim and fulfill his potential.

We've got an adundance of good, in some cases potentially great youngsters in our ranks .. because of the hit & miss nature & seemingly piss poor structure of the U21 League and cups, the problem we have is giving them all the necessary opportunity. It can't be good going weeks without playing a proper competitive match.

Is it joe royal then who has the main say on who goes where on loans?

I live about 5 minutes from the Cambridge United stadium. Won't be able to go this weekend but I'll try and see one of the games he is there for.

Cambridge are playing Doncaster Rovers in the FA cup so I could see Conor Grant vs Ledson (but knowing my luck they'll both not be allowed to play!)

*I never saw Rooney play for us, he was injured once, suspended once and an unused sub on the other occasion in his first season, then broke his foot against Rangers when I'd specifically travelled 200 miles to see him play!

We gave him a position last season which basically meant he had to pick out clubs to send youth players to and then go and watch them play and report back.

He's 18 and going to a team where he will likely be 1st choice and should be their star player...could be that Martinez wants to see him dominate games.

If he does well then in Jan i think we will see a bigger club come in for him...

Its really a great move compared to going to the championship straight away and not getting 90mins each week.
