League One
Wigan - game postponed

Doncaster - Conor Grant played 90 minutes in 0-1 home defeat to Scunthorpe (Mattioni out injured)

OS Match Report

"A chance did fall to Tyson on the stroke of half time however as he got on the end of a low Conor Grant corner."

Twitter stuff
12' Conor Grant felled 35 yards out. Freekick to Rovers. Grant to take..Well defended by Bishop and Scunthorpe clear 0-0
45+1' Rovers have the ball down the right,it's played in then back to the edge of the box to Grant but his shot is weak and Daniels collects
46' Freekick from wide left by Grant, Scunny clear 0-1
61' DIRTY: Stephen Dawson chops down Conor Grant and picks up yellow card. 15 seconds later the Scunny skipper is subbed off!
64' Grant breaks, threads it through to Copps, but a Scunny foot gets their first....back across to Williams but he can't get his shot away

Random fan comment
"Thought Robins got his tactics spot on first half, doubling up on Coppinger & bullying us out of midfield with Grant virtually non existant. Second half was much better with the introduction of Keegan, allowing Coppinger & Grant a bit more freedom."

Fleetwood - David Henen played 90 minutes in 1-1 away draw at Shrewsbury

OS Match Report
"Henen was proving a handful for the Shrews defence, and made a couple of dangerous runs down the flanks as his side looked for a way back into the game"
"The momentum was starting to swing Town’s way, and Proctor played in Henen down the left who saw his fierce effort fly just over."
"Henen later drew a smart stop out of Halstead as his shot from the near post was kept out as the Cod Army rallied for an equaliser"

Twitter stuff

.@HenenDavid quick feet leaves @shrewsweb standing, loses his footing just before playing the ball to @davidbally23. 1-0 (12)
.@HenenDavid cuts inside, glorious piece of skill to beat his man, blazes over the bar. 1-0 (66)
.@HenenDavid goes racing through one on one but can't find the finishing touch as the goalkeeper makes the vital block. 1-0 (73)

Cambridge - Ryan Ledson played 90 minutes in 3-0 away win at bottom club Dagenham & Redbridge

OS Match Report

Twitter stuff
4' Berry releases Williamson on the break and U's win the first corner of the game. Ryan Ledson penalized and Dagenham free kick relieves pressure on the home side
9' Ryan Ledson tries his luck from 35 yards but it sails over the cross bar
29' Ledson's shot blocked and rolls for a corner

Midfield, as a three - I don't think there is many better in the league in terms of Berry/Ledson/Newton.
We need to find a way to get Berry, Newton and Ledson (if he stays) in the centre of midfield and it looks like we may have fallen into a solution today, whether by luck or judgement.
I am quite hopeful of keeping Ledson for the season. He's doing well, appears happy (his apparent delight when we score is a joy to behold) and so Everton may agree he's in the best place.

National League South
Stockport County - Delial Brewster makes debut, plays full game, scores and is awarded MOM in 1-2 home defeat against Harrogate

No OS match report (as yet)

Fan match report
"There was some consolation midst perhaps the most insipid showing from County for some time, in the shape of Delial Brewsters performance…he looked every bit as good as his advanced publicity….scoring a belter…..creating what should have been a second, but wasn`t when Jonny Margetts fluffed his lines from the spot…..and generally appeared to be head and shoulders better than all his team mates who, apart from a couple of flick on’s from Margetts, failed to summon up a decent pass to him game long!"

Twitter stuff
GOOAALL! (12') | Brewster marks his debut in style, running on to pick up a Margetts flick before outpacing his marker and firing home! 1-1.
MAN OF THE MATCH | Brewster. A promising debut, and well-taken goal, by the Everton youngster.
88' | Brewster looks to add to his MoM award with a second goal, but shoots straight at Crook from just inside the visitors' area.

Very impressed by this lad today for his first game looked quick, hard working and took his goal well. I just hope we can start putting balls in behind, at his feet or in the channels rather than his head and chest and we could've found (short term maybe) our answer to our goalscorer problem.
After Brewster's goal I thought that even the dimmest of our players would have realised where his strengths were. Brewster and Margetts were well marshalled by the Harrogate central defence but the service from the midfield was very poor.
I thought he did really well. He wasn't intimidated by their centre backs, he's got pace, composure and a good work ethic.
Great debut but I can't get too giddy as he won't be here in a month.

Grant, Ledson and Henen seem to be the best players in their teams since joining.

It would be ideal if we could have two of them at the same club so they can develop an understanding with each other.

.....cheers, I think Stockport play in the National League North. Great to see Brewster score at Edgeley Park, I actually scored 2 there so he's still got a bit of catching to do (never miss an opportunity).

Agreed. These reports are a great little feature. Thanks for taking the time to put them together

As ever, much appreciated @atrottel. Have we anybody at Wigan now Junior and Kenny have returned? It's great to see Brewster getting a game and a goal in what appears to be a blank period for u18/21s , ... but I wouldn't want him to stay more than a month or two at that level . It's a balance I guess , he's the youngest of our out-on-loan players , will gain something , but our u21s team have proved in pre season that they can match National League teams, the level above this, so progressing to our u21s is arguably as challenging for him. Overall though I feel mutch more comfortable with our loan arrangements than at the beginning of the season.

Excellent goal that, similar to a goal he scored against Stoke u18s , picking up ball, pacy run good left foot finish , he's certainly looking strong since his return from injury. But the overall clip does nothing to convince me that Stockport is anything other than a short term move that will give him game time and let our coaches see if he has the attitude to mix it with older , more physical players. He's good enough to play at a better level later in the season.

Yeah I think we're using Stockport to give young players guaranteed playing time in a tough physical league. Doubt he'll stay there beyond his month loan.
