Everton reopen talks with Sam Allardyce

Salah will have a field day.

The front 5 will, I agree with others you might aswell look at around Boxing Day to see any real progression in terms of shape and organisation, no chance he can solve this mess within 10 days .... too many bad eggs and problems in this squad.

That's right, because they were.

The squad is weaker; not utterly decimated and would barely grace the pitch in League 2 all of a sudden; the other players still existed and contributed.

You could argue that our defence is decimated. Jagielka, Williams and Baines have all reached the door of the glue factory at the same time. This should've been addressed in the summer.

If he really wanted to come to us mate, he'd have found a way, no doubt about it.

I'm sure he'd rather be at Everton than Watford, but given the state we're in at the moment, people need to realise it isn't worth the gamble.
As you said it's a judgement call but he can't just walk away. He has probably also been told in private if he does play up there will be consequences if he does.

Watford have no reason to play nice with either him or us. Unlike a player a manager can't down tools because you are only as good as your last job plus it's unprofessional and while players can get away with that I doubt another club would hire a manager like that.

It's possible. Or the more likely answer is that they've been exposed as the entire side is out of form. I don't think they're good players anymore personally, but I think their perceived decline has been exacerbated by the whole squad being completely off their game.

This is the real issue. An attack without Lukaku and Barkley, yet adding the players we have should still score goals, but Koeman clearly couldn’t play outside his system that was reliant on a true 9. Unsworth was a temp so no one followed his orders.

But a backline without Coleman and Mori hurts. Baines falling off a cliff is unfortunate. Williams showing up out of shape and completely past it was surprising. Jags has just continued to regress. Keane was good until he got hurt. Holgate has been shockingly bad and can’t be trusted. JonJoe has been okay at times. Martina can’t defend. To not buy a CB and LB was the dagger. We have no alternatives. No manager can fix that.

Although, if the team was fit and played a different style, you could get away with Besic playing CB or could use our glut of DCMs to better support our defense. But it’s hard to hire someone like Tuchel in December and ask him to change our entire system, get players truly fit, retrain our younger players, and expect to see improvements until after January.

Only hoping that the massive bucket of KFC was tainted with steroid/coke/ket/ANYTHING induced chickens to ensure he fails any spot checking.

We can dream....

Hell if he has managed to swindle a 3 year contract at £4m a year out of us then anything can happen.

I'm really down about this

It's an appointment that stinks of failure

Hopefully he's only here on the short term. I can live with that if he keeps us up

If he gets signed to a 3 year deal then I'm going to be furious

How about if he (somehow) does really well in that 3 years?

Because there is no way on earth he will be here for 3 years if he's doing average or below. Not a chance.

I would imagine allardyce is going to be given a deal beyond this summer but it's total will be less or equal to the supposed £12m we were prepared to give Watford. In the summer Silva will leave Watford and walk straight into the Everton job with allardyce paid off. Lots of money being thrown around but that's how I see it. Of course I could be wrong and allardyce gets us into Europe by the end of the season and he is proclaimed as the new Messiah but I very much doubt it.
Hahahaha hahahaha.

No.
