And if the players don't take kindly to being fronted up? Has he ever dealt with a bigger group of egotists? I reckon his approach will turn out to be kicking them when they're already down and won't work. This bunch need confidence restoring, organising and coaching not the fear of Thunderhead.

Unsworth and Martinez tried the arm around the shoulder softly softly approach - and were openly laughed at by the players.

Koeman was also hands off, albeit in a different way in the sense that he didn't bother to interact with the players very much - and got the same treatment.

No, what we need now is a man who is extremely hands on and will instruct the players on their roles and drill them day to day. Maybe that's the kind of manager Moyes was, and Allardyce is.

Some of your targets may well have worked a month ago and by all accounts we did try for Silva but....this is a whole new game now with players who are opening cheating us, talk the talk then snigger amongst themselves about their latest collapse. No this needs a real no nonsense henchman - Dyche is cut from the same football mound as Allardyce but make no mistake he will front them up, and we’re needed kick ass that’s after he has cleared out the ex player brigade who also won nothing. I will enjoy watching our “players” be drilled into submission.
